This place has ripped me off ENOUGH. I've never had dental problems. I moved from florida to here and went there for a cleaning next thing you know I needed 2 fillings...well those fillings somehow got infected and I needed root canals...well I went back this past Wednesday for my scheduled cleaning and oddly needed 3 more fillings...in 6 months...really...I dont drink soda, coffee or wat sweets...when they clean your teeth you wait 3 hours and then they take 10 minutes cleaning your teeth...needless to say I let them do the fillings...now the teeth beside them which is the ones I had root canals in are killing me...seems to me they just do work to you and create further problems to keep you coming back...well I'll be back...for my MONEY!!!

Great experience today. It was difficult not going back to the dentistry office I have been going to for almost 20 years, but I am glad I did come here. Dr. Birrer is a great person and Doctor. The staff are very polite and helpful. I was welcomed as soon as I walked in the door. It is obvious that they are a very passionate group and are accustomed to going the extra mile or two for every patient. I will return here for future dental work because I know that my concerns are being understood, my teeth are taken care of, and I am treated as a person not just as a patient.

I had an excellent experience at Smyrna modern dentistry with Dr. Judge and her assistant Abby Minor.
They had me in and out in a timely manner. Everything was explained thoroughly to my understanding. I recommend this office to anyone.

I would give zero stars if I could. Charged over 7000 (my portion) for three root canals and 2 crowns. Got my EOBs from insurance (they billed over 13000 in total claims) and it stated I owed a certain amount, much less than half of 7k. When my husband and I called, they said "insurance doesn't recognize upgraded materials, even though we bill codes for them." My plan is a contracted plan after a deductible, so whatever is billed, they are contractually obligated to accept a fixed amount based on their agreement w/ the insurance company. They only billed for "base" materials, not the upgrade as to be able to charge full amount of upgrade, which is incorrect billing. They then took a month to send me multiple requested paper copies of itemized charges, since they also messed up applying my deposit for services. They included unperformed procedures in my treatment plan and wanted to continue to charge for full amount until "they got around to adjusting it" but billed my insurance for them. Tried to upcharge a cleaning because the day I was there to get my final crowns, (less than a week after my root canal) I was sore and they wanted to deep clean that area. Because I attempted it and was sore, they said that they would then have to do a "special treatment" because they couldn't do it that day and they would charge me that treatment because my insurance of course wouldn't pay. These people are disgusting medical professionals and I would not send anyone here ever. They are the exact example of what gives dentristry a bad name cost wise.

Thought I would give this place a chance after the first bad impression. I originally came in looking to remove my wisdom tooth only. After a long consultation. They said I needed the works. Apparently my teeth were going to fall out according to their description even though I had no cavities or black gums. They made me feel like I was going to die if I didn’t get the most expensive procedures done not covered by insurance. They were like used Car salesman trying to make a buck! I ended up getting my wisdom tooth pulled as I originally wanted and got the standard Periodontal scaling done since it’s been a while since actually seeing a dentist. And I trusted that they would actually being telling me the truth on certain things. The price of the wisdom tooth removal was way overpriced and with the scaling ended up spending almost $800 my first visit. After that I thought I was good just for my normal cleanings. I went back....my mistake! I just wanted to get my normal cleanings done and still got the Used car salesmen’s pitch. Apparently even after doing the standard Periodontal cleaning I still had a severe case of Periodontal disease according to them. They suggested I get a laser procedure done and of course this procedure was not covered under insurance. I keep on telling them “No” I don’t want this procedure but felt bullied to get it. They keep on saying my gums are bleeding. I was like well if I poked you with a sharp metal tool then your gums would bleed too! My gums are not bleeding at home only at this dentist....hmmm...makes you think. At last I decided to no longer go to Modern Smyrna Dentistry because of the constant bullying to purchase dental procedures I don’t feel like I need. Hope this place changes their way and care more about the customer instead of trying to make more money.

After not seeing a dentist for a while, I made an appointment here and was pleased with the entire experience. The staff was really kind, and even very helpful when discussing payment options for work I needed done. Based on my experience, I would recommend this dentist to others.

So they were well worded staff that hold their own when opposed about their prices and procedures. That said they need to be because they over price their work. They inflate work price if you have insurance. We went to other dentist and got the same exam and were offered work that was way less the cost and way less invasive. To me they need to humble themselves to their community and act as though they are servants to those who come in their facility. I felt as though I was being took advantage of. Honestly if I was you I would go somewhere else. Any ways may God help them and guide them for the sake of those who need them. Thanks!
