The Sugar House Dentist

I needed to find a new dentist under my insurance and picked Dr. Theurer based on the reviews online. It's is true, he is a very nice man and very professional. All staff are attentive and knowledgeable. I had a great experience and will continue to see him.

There are many Dentists to choose in the Salt Lake Valley. I have yet to meet one with the caliber quality of care and service as Theurer Family Dental. I recently had to find a new Dentist due to mine retiring. Distraught I wouldn’t find one as amazing, with some searching, I was lucky enough to come across Dr. Theurer. Walking into the office is always a pleasure like no other Dentist offers. The office is warm and welcoming. You are greeted by a beautiful fish tank in the waiting room. The offices are always clean and tidy. Dr. Theurer is very attentive with me and respectful of my wishes. Prices are a bargain for the services provided! The Theurer Dental team makes me feel like family.

My experience was amazing at the Sugar House Dental was amazing. They made me feel comfortable and were very understanding of my extreme anxiety about going to the dentist. Kate my dental hygienist made me feel at ease and walked me through each step of my dental procedure. Not only does she care about my dental health but about me as well-asking me about my personal life and making me laugh to put me at ease. I can’t believe I’m saying this but I can’t wait to go back to the dentist. I highly recommend the Sugar House dentist!

If you scan through the reviews you'll see five stars for the dentist and one star for his staff. That was my experience too. When I called to get information about the mini implants that are so prominently described on his web page neither of the two people I spoke to had ever heard of them. (Should have been first red flag) I thought I'd go in and talk to the doctor. After the exam and being told that the implants I needed could be achieved with the mini implants, he referred me to a implant specialist that he preferred to do the work.

Dr. Theurer's financial manager sketched out some pricing for me, what the insurance would pay and what my costs would be. I approve that and she said she would set an appointment with a specialist and call me. I never got the call so when I did get a call from the specialist's office confirming my appointment for the next morning, I had to do some fast scheduling to accommodate. When the specialist's staff sat me down with a financial consent sheet, first off they had the wrong procedures. The assistant says, "Well I've never done it before". When I was presented with the correct procedure's costs ... they were double what I was quoted! It's time to walk ...

Theurer may be a good dentist and yes, he does have a nice aquarium as is advertised, but beyond that my visits were a nightmare before we even started the work.

Wow!!! I had an amazing experience with Dr. Theurer and his team! I’ve had more visits with dentists than I would like to and I must say this was a different experience than I’ve ever had. The staff is so friendly and genuinely cares! Every step of my treatment was explained to me prior to and during the process, which was very comforting to me. Highly recommend!!!

Went here based on recommendation from a friend. Very friendly, professional, and thorough. Dr. Thorup never makes you feel rushed and was gentle and understanding of my dislike for dental procedures. Hygienist Christopher is nice and takes the time to do a good job. All the support staff actually seem to care that you have a good experience. You're not just another customer here. The fish tank in the waiting room is cool too!

Such new and amazing technology! Every person has been great! Dr. Theurer has been wonderful...Kate, Vanessa and Brittany were all amazing and my dentist visits aren't a dreaded thing like they have been in the past!!

Dr Theurer and his staff have the most amazing level of compassion and care that I have ever experianced in a dental setting. They not only listen, but also respect you. They think of short and long term care so that the future can not only look bright but be bright!!! I have been sending patients to see Dr, Theurer for more than 10 years. The staff is very professional and accommodating. The level of dental care is second to none. My patient always return happy and with excellent dental care. I have been so impressed that I have sent all my family and friends to see Dr. Theurer.

I came to this office for the pinhole gum surgery technique when my gum recession became uncomfortable. Dr. Theurer and his staff all did a wonderful job. He was super friendly and explained everything clearly so I understood exactly what would happen. The procedure was painless and the recovery was smooth.
Most recently I came back to their office for a second opinion with some cavities another dentist told me I had. Dr. Theurer walked through the x-rays with me to explain what cavities look like and what healthy teeth look like. Turns out I didn't have any cavities. The office didn't charge me for the appointment or the x-ray. I will definitely be switching to this office for my regular dental cleaning!
