1. Before the remodel, they were offering gift cards for their 5 star reviews
2. Staff doesn't communicate well with each other - also the walkie talkies they use to talk to one another is very annoying.
3. Work is not good and expensive
4. I had an infection and they didn't even prescribe antibiotics until I asked them to at my next visit.
5. During a big covid spike, I was concerned about getting covid because of my severe asthma staff said, "it's ok we've all already had covid". That's great, "I" don't want to get Covid and if you all got covid that doesn't make me feel safe at all!
6. Most dental staff are temp/contract workers so I was seeing a different dentist and hygenist each time.
7. They couldn't provide before/after examples to ease my fear of dental implants
8. When my capped tooth broke off, the dentist said I needed to get the rest of the tooth extracted, they offered no referral and no follow up until I asked about it at the next visit.
I was a client for 9 years, so was my wife and a friend and we're all on the same page that this place seems nice but actually sucks. I was very unhappy with a $250 temporary they made because they didn't take the mold impression right. They didn't like that I was unhappy about it and cancelled my dental cleaning for the next day because the hygienist didn't feel comfortable. I have a huge gap between my teeth and the clear cheap plastic that goes over it (see pic, would you be happy with that?). I asked for a discount for this shoddy work and they said that the provider said to bring the temporary back and they'll return my tooth to me... they didn't even attempt to offer to make a new mold or fix the temporary, just to give me my broken off tooth back. Save yourself the headache and don't go here!

I've been going here for 8 years. I love this dentist! On my last trip here he noted a lost filling before I had the chance to tell him about it (not that I know how to articulate it). I always leave with new oral hygiene tips for long term health - they want the best for me. Timing is almost always perfect - no waiting around. Highly recommended!

Everyone at Laurel Smile, from my initial phone contact, to emails , to everyone I met in the office was terrific ! Dr. Sibhatu was friendly, compassionate and brilliant. His knowledge and empathy are amazing. And I feel that I was charged a very fair price, which really helps these days! As someone who has run to Mexico in the past for dental care, I am truly happy to meet these folks, right here at home!

Everyone here from the staff to the dentists were really sweet and professional. I had the new client special and they treated my teeth with the utmost care and were very empathetic. I absolutely hate going to the dentist and it will never not suck, so you have to choose dentists who will at least make you feel safe and comfortable while going through the ordeal.

I’ve been going to Laurel Smile Dentistry for a looong time… since it was run by Dr Yu, and since then I have received excellent care from the residing dentists that have replaced her. THIS is My dental team because they’re awesome, from start to finish! The place is immaculate and the staff is patient and kind. It can not get any better :)

This place is Heaven Sent!!!!!!!!!! After experiencing a nightmare at San Leandro Bancroft Dentist, my neighborhood dentist saved the day. I had moved away and forgot how great they were. I have a huge fear of the dentist but this place is amazing. The receptionists knows you by name (Rafael is EVERYTHING!!!) Great customer service, professionalism and I feel valued! From walking in and being greeted with delightful smiles, to the hygienist Finan (wow, what masterful, yet gentle hands with the fearful), and the dentist. Beautiful office, warm & welcoming staff. Dr Sabhatu is thorough, skilled, detailed, & accepting. I have had so much scary dental work with no explanations, education, & very little compassion for my situation. He offered me options with rationales, answered my questions, & gave me the respect to make my own decisions. He’s friendly, open, chatty, & humble -willing to share our common humanity rather than a superior doctor who knows best. I’m grateful to have found my permanent dentist. Also, as a long time nurse manager in multiple health care settings, I can see that this office staff is well managed, they enjoy their positions & are respected & appreciated as reflected by their client centered attitudes. It’s a rarity: a pleasant dental office to visit.
