I have a 5-year old son who has Autism, and up until yesterday, had never been to a dentist due to his aversion to touch. He fell down at school yesterday, hit his mouth on a wooden bench, and knocked out nearly all of his front tooth. My mom suggested Nelson Ridge Family Dental, because this is where she & my family go. I was VERY hesitant & nervous .. they didn’t specialize in pediatrics or children with special needs. I convinced myself the appointment would be an awful experience for everyone involved.
That couldn’t have been further from the truth. Everyone was very friendly & inviting, and the office was beautiful. One of our dental assistants, Ashley, is someone I’ll never forget. She had this unbelievable ability to make my son feel calm & able to comply with the things they needed him to do. She was patient, genuine, and compassionate. I had tears in my eyes as I watched her ease my son’s fears.
As a special needs mom, I know these kinds of experiences can go horribly wrong in a matter of minutes. But when you find people who truly love what they do, and who are empathetic to the varying needs of each individual patient, you’ve won. Thanks to Bianca, Ashley, & Dr. Kathy, I have a completely different mindset regarding future dental visits & doctor appointments for my son. I’ll never be able to fully express my gratitude for everything they did yesterday. 💗

Everything was wonderful about my visit. The technology used is incredible. The office itself is beautiful and well kept. My cleaning was thorough (thanks Amanda). Dr. Etchison is very personable and explains things very well. Cory did a great job with my scan for my mouth guard. Vicky did a great job working with my busy schedule to schedule my future appointments. The front desk staff was very welcoming. This is definitely the best dental office I’ve been to and I highly recommend it!
