*I updated my review based on correspondence with the provider. Thank you for your assistance!

I had a my first cleaning of the insurance period and they recommended that I have fillings done. Had the fillings done and scheduled another 6 month cleaning. The subsequent cleaning was not covered by insurance because I had reached my maximum amount allotted by insurance for the year due to the fillings. When I asked why they didn't inform me that I had reached my maximum I was told that they have "hundreds of clients so we can't possibly look into everyone." For a business that prides itself on customer services and individual client needs I would have expected that they would have checked with my insurance that services were covered. It is unprofessional to not provide all clients with the same standard of services. I could have just waited a month to have the cleaning done when my insurance would have reset anyway or spread the fillings out over two years. If you have hundreds of clients and cannot help them all then I would recommend reducing the amount of clients or hiring more staff to provide a stronger standard of care.

They are thorough with your care but they also offer services not always covered by insurance so make sure you ask them if insurance covers the services they provide you so you do not receive surprise bills. They are strongly sales-oriented so if pressure makes you uncomfortable you would most likely want to visit another practitioner.

One of the best dental visits I’ve ever had, it’s an experience, not just a visit.

Leah is a great hygienist, and I love all the comfort items they offer.

Incredibly friendly and kind staff. I've never felt more comfortable. I've had this particular procedure done twice before and was in pain during and days after. Two days after my visit to Somerset and I still have not experienced any pain or swelling. At most some slight soreness in my jaw. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Dentistry at Sommerset is the best dental practice I have ever experienced!! Very competent, talented staff, hygienists and doctors. Wonderful, low anxiety ambience. Highly recommend.

The dentist couldn't care less about my emergency. I shouldn't have counted on them.

Following my consultation and their recommendation, I was scheduled to get a crown. However, a week before my appointment, I started to experience a toothache. Since my pain increased, the dentist prescribed me antibiotics and suggested painkillers. I got the antibiotics and painkillers, and they informed me that a root canal treatment might be necessary. I thought I could wait until my appointment for treatment, and I was fine for two days. I suddenly had to endure extreme pain in the middle of the night and couldn't do anything except drink cold water to numb the area. Since the pain got out of control, I had to go to Mary Greely's ER room at 4 am, which didn't help either (they gave me painkillers, but I still had to drink cold water for almost 6 hours now). First thing in the morning, I called Dentistry at Somerset and told them about the emergency and the pain. They told me the dentist had a full schedule, but they would call back after talking to the dentist. I expected to be taken care of sooner than the initial appointment, given my emergency; unfortunately, they did not do anything. They said they will call around to see if other dentists were available. I started to drive around town in pain, visited four different dentists, and found a solution in Des Moines. A few hours after they turned me down, they said they couldn't find anyone else to help.

I went in today for the free dental clinic event, everyone was so nice starting with the front desk ladies. My dental hygienist Megan was awesome! She was so nice and attentive and made me feel comfortable.

My visit today at Somerset was the best! I was very nervous at first having had previous dental visits from other dentists but the care in this office is exceptional. The comfort menu truly helps so much, especially to nervous patients such as myself. All the staff are so kind and Dr. Nietzsche is wonderful. I had my first pain free dental visit and I am looking forward to my next appointment. Thank you so much!

Great service. Welcoming and helpful team members. While doing my fillings , I had Netflix playing my favorite show which helped me relax during a procedure that lasted over an hour. Doctor and dental assistant were engaging and answered all the questions I had as well as making sure that I was doing well. I’m happy with their service and will go back there.
