Marx Family Dental

Since May of 1989, I have been a patient of Dr. Marx. I have had both routine cleaning and also several cosmetic procedures. The results of this work have been absolutely outstanding. Over these 29 years, I have never had any dental discomfort while in the dental chair being treated. Dr. Marx's personality is friendly and engaging. Dr. Marx is a true dental professional who loves what he does and it shows. Office staff has been nothing but friendly and pleasant. Terri, the office manager, has always taken time out of her busy day to chat with me after an appointment and over these many years has always been kind, pleasant, and professional. As a practicing physician in private practice myself, I know how hard it is to bring together all of the necessary office resources, staff, business knowledge, financial investment, medical knowledge, medical skills, and personalities on a daily basis to deliver high quality care. Dr. Marx, Terri, and staff are all pros at getting high quality dental care done. If you are looking for a professional, pleasant, and highly skilled dental professional, then take it from me, a trained Medical Doctor (M.D.), Dr. Marx, Terri, and staff are your pathway to superb and pleasant dental care. I just had all my teeth pulled and I didn't feel a think. I haven't seen a dentist in 11 years until this office and they are the best around.

I would recommend Marx Family Dental, it was the best experience at a dental office I have ever had. I hadn't been to a dentist in so long. They did an excellent job cleaning my teeth and explaining the information about my teeth I needed to know. All the staff were friendly and informative. Thank you Marx Family Dental for making this a pleasant experience for me when it could have not been easily.

Everyone was kind and friendly. My wait was short. My grandson had an absolutely wonderful experience and everything was explained to him and he did so well. I would recommend Dr. Marx office to anyone. We had an awesome visit. Love you all.

This was the best experience I have had at a dental Office. I loved that the receptionist greeting me and shook my hand when I arrived. The hygienist that I had my cleaning with was amazing. Dr. Marx was fantastic and explained everything during my exam. The office staff was great!! All around it was the Best dental office I have ever been to, they are all very friendly. I will recommend this place to every one I talk to! No wonder they are voted BEST dentist in the Northland!!!! :)

Efficient, friendly, knowledgeable professionals. I’ve never been treated so well at a dental office and had my mouth feel so good afterward. Highly recommend. Though I imagine all the hygienists are wonderful, I’d commend Amanda for her skill; she was fantastic.

I have been going to Marx Family dental for years. Natasha my dental hygienist is always the best and Dr Emily is as well. They are a finely tuned machine of awesomeness and would recommend them to anyone.

Great team, with up to date technology. The most comprehensive initial exam I've ever had at a dental office. I felt very supported and cared for!

I’m not going to leave 1 Star because the experience with coming to the office, and my teeth cleaning was not at all bad. Everyone was extremely nice, the hygienist was friendly, and the doctor went over the treatment plan with great detail. I’ve been to the office one time, and I appreciated the work, and treatment plan, but I felt like I needed to go another office for a second opinion.

The only reason I did that is because I only have $2,000 to be covered for the year I’m insurance for a plan that is about to take effect, and the services that we’re needing to be rendered by the office would be around $5,000. I have not been to a dentist in awhile, and I just wanted to make sure that I wasn’t being charged more than I needed to. I am not saying that I essentially was being “over charged” or anything like that because I understand that a business is a business, and prices are set by the business, especially when you have a perfect system that thrives and works.

The thing that just didn’t sit well with me was that it was a bit difficult to get my second appointment cancelled. Not only that, but I was transferred to three different people; however, I knew why, it was because they have someone who more so deals with retention. I hate that I had to do this, but I felt like I had to start out the conversation rudely with the retention person by acting a tad inpatient, that way they would stop trying to keep me. That is not the reason I am giving three stars.

The reason I am giving three stars is because once the person on the phone realized I had my mind up, because I was pretty adamant, said “ok I understand, just know we are always here for you if you decide to come back from a cheap dentist.” Even thought that was a tad passive aggressive disguised as being sincere, I can understand why she would say that being a bit witty myself, so I’m a bit understanding

The money isn’t the issue, it’s the way and the vibe that came across.

1. Their was a sense of pride in that statement referring to another dentist as a “cheap dentist”. It’s great that they have confidence in themselves, which they are great it seems, but it seemed like they called another dentist cheap, which seemed very conceited of their trade.

2. Just let me cancel the appointment without transferring me to two other people, you are just losing one patient, you have so many happy ones, you don’t need to have a designated retention person. Just cancel the appointment and let me move on.

3. I could totally afford the dental work, I’m an engineer and make decent money, it’s just unethical of me to pay such prices as I am smart enough to not be the basic American consumer who will listen to someone “Selling” their goods or services without doing a bit of research on my own. It’s definitely nothing personal.

As illustrated before, the office staff was very nice. I just wouldn’t refer anyone here for reasons stated above.
