Virginia Family Dentistry Brandermill - Woodlake

This facility is clean, friendly and professional. I've had the best experience for routine cleaning as well as an implant I recently had done. They've taken good care of me and everything went smoothly. I've been to many different dentist throughout my travels and I wish I went here the whole time.

visit date 3/15/2022 Dental hygienist, Ben, really does a through job. My teeth feel like new and smooth after cleaning, that I did not want to ever eat food any more. My regular dentist was on vacation, so Dr. Mule did my exam, and I had no cavities. Great place for dental care.

The staff is always friendly and efficient, and accommodating! My husband and I arranged to have our appointments at the same time, and it worked out well. In the appointment, they are great as well, addressing my concerns.

Who likes to go to the dentist? I was called back almost immediately after I signed in 4 minutes prior to the designated appointment time. Good. I am seen by a different hygienist every time I go, which is fine with me. I am told I could ask for a particular person if I wanted to, but I don't feel the need. Also good. This time, the hygienist was, it seemed, particularly careful in his cleaning, etc.very methodical and seemed unhurried. Good again. The doc, dentist, came in a few minutes after the cleaning, spent just a minute checking the x-rays and my teeth, said hi, bye, and left. A little impersonal, but so what? We going to discuss our latest vacation? What am I there for? Again, who likes to go to the dentist? Very efficiently run dental practice.

Relocated and tried this location. A little left to be desired. It's a clean facility and they followed Covid-19 procedures very accurately. I did not like being addressed as "sweetie" upon check-in by a person clearly my peer in age. I was paired with the only person of color for my dental hygienist, sure that was no coincidence. I liked her practices, but have had more thorough cleanings that do require more pain that I became accustomed to. I saw Dr. Doss and was turned off by the overload of info after my x-ray and cleaning. She spoke very fast and the meeting was very rushed. When she became aware of my confusion, she apologized it was too much for me and said "Well I could tell you everything is ok" and did a jump in the air. Which I thought was snarly and unprofessional. Her treatment plan is based off of current state instead of viewing and understanding my dental history. I will not return and will seek a second opinion elsewhere...

The care received is excellent. I have had nothing but positive experiences in my regular checkups, the hygienist (Taylor if I'm remembering correctly) is very personable and does a great job and Dr. Estill as well (though my interactions with him have been limited since my appointments are typically just routine cleanings).

I only have one nit to pick at this time: their billing software may bill you even if you will not end up actually owing anything. Make sure you compare the amount on your bill with the explanation of benefits from your insurer. We should all be doing this anyway, but I have had several incorrect bills mailed to me due to some apparent issue with the way my insurer has managed their claims processing and the way Virginia Family Dentistry's billing software works. The operations manager contacted me and explained this. There could be more transparent communication between Virginia Family Dentistry and their customers when claims processing (particularly in-network claims) goes awry and their system just starts sending out bills even while they are in the midst of coordinating with the insurance company to fix the issue.

We experienced our usual 5 star visit to Virginia Dentistry. Everyone is so professional and kind.

Dr. Estill is an outstanding dentist! His knowledge, care, compassion and personal attention to his patients puts him in a class by himself. I have never been fond of going to the dentist but that changed when I found Dr. Estill and his dental assistant, Monica. They both go above and beyond to be sure you are comfortable and informed about what is going on. And both are always available for answering any questions or concerns you may have. You are never treated as “just another patient” and I highly value that personable connection when choosing a dentist. FIVE STARS!!!

Yolanda is the best. She is very sweet and very informative about everything. Wont see any other there.

Just transfered over to this location from the Staples Mill location. Yolanda the dental hygienist was amazing. She was very friendly and did an excellent job. Dr. Doss was really nice and very helpful. Would definitely recommend them to my friends and family.
