Who talks about their dental hygienist? This guy. Sara is the best! Very personal, always wearing a smile while being professional. She makes going to the dentist for cleaning less stressful and walking out feeling good about yourself and writing down your next appointment with Sara with less stressful. Keep it Sara. Thank you.

So happy to have found Island Dentistry, Dr. Scales and his staff. Dr. Scales is very attentive to the patient and has one of kind approach to young patients. My daughter had a traumatizing dental experience at another practice at a very young age (4-6) which made her an impossible patient at pediatric dentistry. At the age of 9-10 I made the decision to bring her to Dr. Scales because somehow I knew he will be able to handle her. Dr. Scales delicately and with great care accomplished the dental work without Nitrous Oxide at my request while assuring her and letting her know what was coming next. That one experience alone freed her from fear of dental work and changed her perception and attitude towards dentistry.

My experience at this dental office was quite different than many of the other reviews. I was referred to this office by a trusted friend. I switched due to distance of my new residence and dental office. I get routine cleanings every 6 months and I am obsessive with oral health. I brush 3-4 times a day (at least) and floss throughout the day, even when bored. When I got to the office and into the dental hygienist's chair I was informed the appointment would take 2 hours. I reluctantly agreed to do the data collection and cleaning after confirming that I could move a work meeting later. This should have been advised when I made the appointment or received confirmation. After meeting with Dr. Erminy, I felt like all my imperfections were pointed out and I was given sales pitch to see what work I should have done. I 100% felt as though this doctor strives to make a high sale from me as a first time patient. I informed my hygienist that I will seek a second opinion. Regretfully, I will not be returning to Island Dentistry. I will pay for any out of pocket cost to return back to my most recent dentist for my routine cleaning, X-rays, advice, and further dental work. Not a good feeling to walk out of the office with a quote for over $500 and feel very uncertain about my visit. The hygienist was great and kind. As a patient, please ask questions and if something doesn’t feel right, it probably isn’t.

I had a very good experience today at Island Dentistry this morning for my semiannual cleaning. Stefani did a very good job causing very little to no discomfort. I highly recommend Island Dentistry for their pleasant and professional service.

I truly appreciate the top quality dental care at Island Dentistry. From the receptionist to the office staff, my dental hygienist Tabitha and Dr Scales guided me through my dental plan. I look forward to my next visit and routine cleanings.

I’ve been going to office for years at this point. I’ve gotten multiple cleanings, Invisalign, even filling or two, and couldn’t be more pleased with the service. I always schedule my appointments with Sara, and since then she’s been my dental hygienist since our family has moved here. Definitely recommend 10/10.

I went in for exam and cleaning. My exam was done by the dental hygienist. She stated that she would do the oral rinse and some cancer screening thing, that would cost $80 more. It was not a request. I turned it into one and said "no." She found two teeth that had depth readings of 5 and 6 respectively and identified that as periodontal disease. Dr. Scales reviewed the findings and stated I would need a treatment plan. He did not explain exactly what was going on, the course of treatment, any alternatives or what I should expect. The hygienist than came back with a thing for me to sign that basically said that there was no guarantee that any of the interventions would work. She also did not explain what I should expect. She did state that generally the disease does not get better, and interventions can only keep it from getting worse. And yet I have had depth reading like this before, and they came back up to a two with normal cleanings and flossing. She did not believe me. I then went to the front to see the plan, and once again, they had added a number of things that insurance does not cover, without explanations of why they are necessary or why insurance does not cover them.

Very accommodating, friendly and professional. I rarely enjoy going to the dentist, but they made me as comfortable as one can be visiting the dentist!

The best dental clinic! Sara is the best! She is very friendly and she just makes you feel very at ease. She is an outstanding hygienist with very gentle hands - just the best!
Dr. Erminy is also great - very thorough and addresses any concerns you might have.
The clinic is very very clean. So, for germophobes/germaphobes out there, this is THE place to go!
They are very organized. It is so easy to make an appointment and stay on regular schedule with your dental care.
They are very welcoming. When you walk in, it's like visiting an old friend - you are greeted with a warm welcome and good conversation. I also never had to wait long at the lobby - very smooth process.
They also give back to the community - they have regular fundraisings to help our local animal shelter and food bank.
