Sage Dental of Downtown Orlando

Dr Alvarez is the best dentist in Orlando. His staff too and I want to give a special shoutout to his dental hygienist LT who really made my day today not only by seeing me quickly on a lunch break, great care of my teethe, but also making me smile and feel wonderful. Dr. Alvarez and his team have always treated me with care and have even been able to fix prior dentists mistakes. I haven't had a cavity in the past few years since I moved to this dental practice plus the pricing and overall attitude make this my favorite dental team. Highly recommended!!!

I had a fantastic experience at Sage Dental--Downtown Orlando. The staff was friendly and Dr. Alvarez made me feel comfortable. I get nervous when I go to the dentist, but Dr. Alvarez has great "chair-side manner." I also made my followup appointment. I urge anyone looking for a quality dentist, to checkout Sage Dental--Downtown Orlando.

I scheduled an appointment a MONTH in advance , gave these individuals my insurance information in advance and arrived to my 9 AM appointment at 845 just to be safe . I go in and the receptionist tells me that she has all of my insurance information already so I am thinking I’ll be in and out !!! I WAS WRONG , I hear the receptionist calling my insurance company on speaker phone confirming my insurance information while I waited . Then she was waiting on the Fax from them so I was waiting for about 45 minutes . Eventually , I was called back into the room . Where I was told I was going to have X-RAYS done . To only wait another 30 minutes staring at a wall before someone finally came in to X-ray me!! I thought it couldn’t get worse .. AGAIN I was wrong . Finally the dentist comes in , tells me I need a deep cleaning and tries to convince me to get Invisalign. He says he won’t be doing the cleaning .. I have to wait for the hygienist to come in !! I wait an additional 20 minutes , she comes in and has me open my mouth pokes around and then all of the sudden has a revelation and says “ oh wait let me look at our schedule because we have two other patients coming in” then proceeds to tell me that I will have to come back another day for the cleaning because they don’t have time due to other patients coming in!!!!! So I as the patient prepare myself , take a day off of work, book in advance , and give them all of the information they need to make the process as smooth as possible. And somehow , they don’t have time for me ??!! What on earth !!!! So I spent about 2 hours in their office for absolutely nothing !!! Needless to say I will not be coming back and I do not recommend this place to anyone !! ALSO I DID NOT GET A FREE ELECTRIC TOOTHBRUSH LIKE THE ADVERTISED!! You’d think they’d at least give me that for my troubles !!!!!

Unfortunately, my experience was not positive. Like some others, I was told that I needed a DEEP cleaning to the tune of $324 after insurance. Went back to my regular dentist - He said there is no way that I'm a candidate for a deep cleaning. Corporate dentists seek corporate profits.

Sage Dental has a great staff! Erica was my Hygenist and she was extremely helpful and genuine. I enjoyed her flexibility and ability to accommodate my difficult schedule.

I am a person that goes to the dentist frequently because I love my teeth and I love them clean. This was my first Orlando dentist and I write this to warn everyone. The hygienist cut my gums from rushing, the person who took my xrays also cut my gums from inexperience, and the dentist may have made up a cavity (I had my teeth xrayed before moving to Orlando with no suspected cavity in the tooth of interest). While drilling the dentist said "oops" and then said he thought the cavity was much deeper then he thought. I have had pain for months and now need to get this tooth fixed. Absolutely the worst dental office I have ever been by far. I will now check every dentists credentials. Do not go here, these people are poorly trained and care more about time and money than an individual's teeth.

If you come in with HMO or cheap insurance, they will find ways to upcharge your regular cleaning into a more expensive non covered option. I had been going to my previous dentist for 5 years with no issues at all. My last cleaning was 8 months ago. I wouldn't go here because its the same cheap equipment, production line style service, up-charging friendly corporate network. Back to my old dentist who is a 40 minute drive away.

I have unique dental needs and Sage was able to work with me and be very gentle. I'm so happy with my experience there and can't wait to bring the rest of my family!

I originally posted a review that gave 5 stars as I was very pleased with my first visit and the doctor and all the staff seemed to really care about my oral health as well as my comfort. After my initial visit, I was sent home with some antibiotics for infection and Ibuprofen for the pain. I took the antibiotics as directed and although they helped some, there is still very obviously infection remaining. I called on Tuesday after the 4th of July because I am in a great deal of pain and having trouble sleeping and eating. I called and was told that they would speak to the doctor and give me a call right back. I waited until almost closing time and still had not heard anything from their office. I called back and got a voicemail. I left a detailed message and pleaded that someone please call me back as I cannot handle the pain. They never called.
I called back again on Wednesday morning and was told that the doctor would not give me any more antibiotic because I needed to be seen by an OS...I have an appointment with their OS but fastest they could see me wasn't until the 14th. I have a heart murmur and infection is dangerous. I need more antibiotics. I have been going through this for quite some time and I KNOW from experience that more antibiotics will help me sleep as well as make the infection better until I am able to be seen and have the teeth removed. I was then told that they would talk to the doctor again and give me a call back....you guessed it! They never called. I called and left a message and again nothing.
I called again this morning and it was the same spiel. Apparently it is completely okay with them that I am in so much pain that I can't eat or sleep... It would be one thing if this were the first day but it has been THREE days...I'm very disappointed, to say the least.

Had the best time at the downtown Orlando location. First of all, great location. They let you park in the Publix garage right next door!The state-of-the-art equipment were among the first things I noticed. The customer service was exceptional. I was treated like a VIP. The family of employees, especially Dr. Alvarez, are the number one reason why I will be coming back to Sage @downtownOrlando.
