I went into the office on the most emotional day of my life and the staff was so concerned and caring, I just couldn't stop the tears but I left feeling way much better, a few words of kindness and encouragement help me through, I also was able to reschedule without issue, I can tell this is a Great Choice I've Made by coming to this clinic I already feel like I been there for years, so looking forward to my upcoming visit as a new patient!!!!!!

I told myself I wouldn't write a review, but since I keep getting spammed in my inbox to do it, I will.

The first couple times my wife and I went here, it was great. The dentists and the staff that handles the cleanings are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Dr. Hechman (I think that's how it's spelled) is a great dentist. He did 4 fillings for me on one side of my mouth and it was a great experience, my previous dentist did one filling for me a long time ago and it was horrendous, felt everything and was just awful, but the ones I got done here were great, didn't feel a thing and they got them done quick.

Now here's where it all changes. So if you can't make a scheduled appointment and let them know within 24 hours you get dinged for $50. My wife had a work emergency before an appointment and couldn't make it so she had to reschedule. She got hit with that. Which is fine, I understand, it's a business. This happened about 6 to 9 months ago...

I had a cleaning scheduled and showed up before my appointment, signed in and checked in with the girls up front. I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes. Now, I'm lucky enough to have a job that's very understanding about taking care of yourself and will give me the time to get this done. Well, I had a meeting that afternoon, and guess what, the girls at the desk forgot I was even there. Did I get a credit? Nope, just got told to reschedule. So I did.

I went back for my reschedule, checked in, said hi to everyone. Same group of girls at the desk. Now I'm a very patient person, so I understand if you're busy, but there was one other person in the waiting room with me. I sat for an hour and a half before I finally got fed up and went back up to the desk. I asked them if they were busy because I had been sitting for so long. I get the same "Oh, we forgot about you" line and they asked me to reschedule. Which I did, then cancelled the next day.

My wife and I are now looking for a new dentist.

The only reason I'm even giving them two stars is because of the hygienists and the dentists. They are all amazing. The front desk staff really leaves a lot to be desired, and they're the ones you have to deal with first.

Also, as an aside, the people who handle billing afterwards need to dial it back a bit too, they're like used car sales people who want to jam 100 different services in your face knowing full well your insurance won't cover it all for the year. That was a bit disappointing too.

Regardless, in all good faith, I'm not sure I can recommend going here which makes me sad, because it was nice the first few times we went, but now, I just can't do it.

Lisa was extremely diligent with the whole process. This was my first time visiting New You Dental. I had told Lisa I never had good experiences when it comes to dentist offices. She made sure to go above and beyond for the comfort and well being of my smile.
Ashika the office representative (front desk) was also very patient and professional when it came to my insurance trouble. All in all I would recommend that you try them out!

Very helpful staff. More than willing to answer any questions. Very truthful and thorough dental work without making me get additional work done that wasn't necessary, unlike some other dental offices (looking at you Aspen Dental). Scheduling has never been a problem. They even allow walk-ins and emergency trips.

Today (3/15/2018), I had to battle with New You again. In essence the dispute was over fees that were charged to my account inappropriately. The financial communications from this office are slow if you request a refund and aggressive if they think you owe them money, even when sometimes New You records information incorrectly. People need to review the billing from this place carefully. Also, know that this office uses automated appointment reminders. Response or lack thereof to these reminders will be used to penalize clients for rescheduling and no-shows and may also be what they use to cancel your appointments without telling you. Be sure to understand the expectations of this office. They do not always communicate details and it can cost you money if you are not paying attention and willing to refute erroneous information. After several minutes of back and forth with the person at New You, the fees were removed from my account.
P.S. I have details from the incident that occurred today to back up this review and I choose to post only this summary as a way to help others in the limited amount of time that I have right now. I wrote another review about interaction with New You in Flint on 12/28/2017. See below.

12/28/2018 - The best thing about this dental office is Shawna the dental hygienist. She is friendly and gives excellent, actionable advice on oral health. I'd gone to this dentist a while back and had cleanings and exams. Most of my time at this office was spent with Shawna for cleanings. Again, Shawna is one of THE BEST! I stopped going for a while because I had a credit on my account and requested a refund, which took several months to receive. I wanted the financial issue resolved before moving forward.
Today (12/28/2017), this office canceled my scheduled appointment (made a little less than two weeks ago), which I learned upon arrival for today's appointment time. This was after I received another of their many reminders at 7:01 am today stating that I had an appointment at 9:30 am. The woman at the desk stated that because I did not reply to confirm, my appointment was canceled. I felt that this was wrong. No text or email was sent saying the appointment had been canceled. I stopped replying to their reminders at all because I learned from previous appointments that they send too many reminders. Even when you confirm you still get reminders so I ignored all of the reminders for this appointment. This office needs to add to their policy that they will cancel your appointment if you do not confirm the appointment. They also need to communicate this to patients.
Also, if this office cancels an appointment, they should also send a text and/or email to state that this is what they did, just like they do with appointment reminder emails and texts.

I love this place I have to get my wisdom teeth removed bcuz I was in so much pain and I couldn't eat or sleep and they removed them the day I went in and they worked with me and my fear of needles the next day after my surgery the surgeon even texted and asked how I was doing. They r so nice and friendly. I don't ever wanna go to a different dentist. New You Dental looks like ur stuck with me!!

The Dentist is good and explains the process and procedures well. However, the woman in charge of billing is rude. There has been an ongoing battle over billing because I changed insurance companies during my daughters treatment (no lapse in coverage). I notified them at the time of the change and was told "no problem". But now that a problem has come up the person in charge of billing at the local office has been nothing less than rude and confrontational.
When I told her I spoke to them several months ago regarding the change of insurance her immediate response was "Really?! Well then, who did you talk to?" as if to challenge my claim, like she thought I was lying or something. When I asked her to go through the notes on the account it turned out it was her I spoke to nearly 4 months prior and that she noted the system to contact the new insurance company but never followed through on it. This caused a billing cycle to go unpaid for $1400 and she wanted me to pay it. I told her she needed to bill the new company first or escalate the issue with the prior company. Instead she gave me the number of the insurance company and asked me to handle it.
When I explained that I have a background in insurance and I can't understand why an internal billing issue belongs to me she responded that she has 5 years experience and asked if I had Dental Insurance background. Again, just arguing for the sake of arguing. My point was that I know it's not my job to fix a problem that arose from her neglect. She then began to tell me how it's the headquarters fault and that they didn't do their job auditing the account.
Her lack of professionalism made me lose my temper and I'm a pretty level headed person. I was just trying to discuss an issue that they say will end up costing me an additional $1400.00 above what they quoted and she's basically trying to verbal joust with me on every sentence and push blame on everyone else. It was pathetic customer care at best.

I was hesitant to post this because I can see that every complaint has been responded by the owner of the business with "call the local the office and speak to them directly". Well, as an owner, you are now aware of the problem. Your conflict avoidance shouldn't force me to deal with a low caliber employee on your behalf. Fix your employees attitudes yourself. That's your job not your customers.
