I’ve gone to JRFD for myself for about two years but today was my 4 year old’s first visit. Everything was very smooth and he seemed very comfortable and excited to be there. He loved picking a prize from the prize dispenser and seeing the doggies.

I like going to visit Dr. Guthrie and her staff. They pay attention to my dental needs in such a way to be supportive of me as I go through the trials of aging teeth. I never feel like I am being rushed through the visit but my teeth are examined carefully, there is no rush during the xrays,, and people seem genuinely interested in me and the totality of my good health. If you are looking for a dental care office where you are more than a number and you'll have a pretty good time getting your teeth cared for go see Dr. Guthrie and her fine staff.

Today was my first appointment at James River Family Dentistry and I'm so thankful to have found them. Every staff member was kind, efficient, friendly, and very professional. Katie, my hygienist, was a joy and I greatly appreciated how gentle she was with my mouth. The teeth cleaning did not hurt and she explained several things along with showing scans of my teeth. It was very interesting. I have every confidence in Dr. Guthrie and look forward to having her as my dentist. She's concise and straight forward, yet very pleasant and patient. She spoke plainly of what future work she believed I should have done but at no time did I ever feel any pressure to make quick decisions. I highly recommend James River Family Dentistry!
