LOVE my dentist. I’ve always had problems with painkillers and anesthesia not working. Dr. Guthrie took the time to listen to me and made a plan to make sure I didn’t feel a thing. It was the first time I’ve ever had dental work without pain! The staff is amazing - they go the extra mile to work with your schedule. The office is clean and quiet and they make sure all the patients are safe. I went from dreading the dentist to looking forward to going and my teeth look amazing!
My husband and kids also go to Dr. Guthrie and love this office! My kids had some anxiety associated with dentists until we switched to James River Dentistry. That is all gone now! Best dentist we have ever seen!!!!

My family and I have been going to this office for the past nine years and every time we are there they go above and beyond to take care of my family‘s needs! This is a very comfortable and clean office! Jess is wonderful, every time you walk in the front door you can see her smiling eyes and welcoming manner. The office is very clean, organized and beautifully decorated! Aly is an amazing hygienist and very efficient! and Marci is very knowledgeable on what kind of dental treatments that need to be done and always on top of the newest technology. This state of the art office is definitely one of a kind and I couldn’t recommend it more!

This was my first visit to James River Dentistry. The staff is amazing - very friendly! I liked the dentist, Dr. Guthrie, a lot - very thorough and explained all options. The best part was meeting Marley and CoaCoa (two cute dogs who welcome you and, if awake when you leave, say good-bye to you)... :)

I had my first appt with JRFD today and I was very impressed. Everyone had a genuinely friendly attitude, the service was pleasant and quite thorough, and they just generally made me feel welcome and valued. The hygienist and dentist took the time to explain everything to me in a manner I could understand, to a point I was really surprised by given all the years I've been to dentists who take 5 seconds to say "looks great!" after a cleaning and walk off. I would highly recommend Dr Guthrie and her staff at James River Family Dentistry to anyone.

Dr. Guthrie and her staff are awesome! The atmosphere is welcoming and professional. You can tell they care about their patients and their oral hygiene. Customer-focused. The dental visits are comprehensive and informative. I am not fan of going to the dentist😅, but it is always a pleasure coming to James River Family Dentistry 😊. I highly recommend this office to anyone who wants to maintain or perfect their smile or teeth 😁!
