I visited Hintz family dentistry for the first time today.
I visited for a cleaning, and to examine a few teeth.
The dental hygienist who worked with me was wonderful; she was fast, friendly, and gentle.
Dr. Hintz stopped by to check over a few teeth and was able to quickly file down a tooth I had broken. He too was kind, gentle, and fast. My tooth looks and feels so much better now.
I’ve always had anxiety about visiting the dentist in general. I have an abnormally small mouth which makes it an uncomfortable experience. I’ve always had problems with my teeth as well, both due to genetics and poor hygiene during my youth. They were very kind and made sure that I was comfortable.
I’ve been to many dentists as I’ve moved around and this is one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. I can’t recommend them enough.

I will say this facility is above and beyond the best! From start to finish unbelievable great experience professional team all working together great experience! The service there is great if you can get in. The receptionist is by far the rudest woman I have ever met. I'm currently looking for another dentist just because of how awful the receptionist is. In person or on the phone, highly rude and unprofessional.

Hintz family dentistry came into my life at a time when I needed a new dentist. I went for a routine cleaning and saw Dr. Scott Hansen and he is very professional and knowledgeable, as well as everyone from the receptionists, to my hygienists and assistants. He filled 4 cavities of mine and did a great job. He even fixed a rear molar filling that a different dentist had filled, but it was sensitive. Dr. Hansen improved that filling from the other dentist. The other 3 fillings are recovering ok so far.
The location is in a busy area of Ankeny, but the building outside and inside couldn’t be nicer.
After an appointment, you’re presented with a report on all your teeth that shows which ones need work if so, etc. I was impressed.This dentist also offers fluoride treatment, which I’m not used to receiving. Grateful for that. I’ll be continuing with Hintz family dentistry and I highly recommend this dentist.

Fantastic experience from the cleaning all the way through the doctor visit was outstanding! I’m definitely bringing the rest of my family to hertz dental they are not only professional they’re friendly and easy to talk to they explained everything and didn’t try to push anything on me that I didn’t need.
