First, I am disabled and on Medicare and Medicaid.
I've been going to this dental business for years in their old Des Moines office. The only complaints I could say is that they moved their office but didn't tell me. The new people that took it over absorbed the existing clients and phone number and just acted like they still were Hintz and since I only come twice a year for cleaning, I didn't find out till they told me to change the name on my phone to 'Capital View', about 2 years later........
Also I had a molar that I allowed them to remove, not knowing that it would remove more than half of my chewing surface and that because it wasn't directly in the front of my mouth that I would have no additional correction. Just deal with it, not even offer me the option to pay for it myself (which I would have done an implant or cap the original tooth if I'd known).
Otherwise I have been very happy with them. Very professional and friendly. I would rather have moved my services with them though, but 4 stars for their service!

I was running late for appointment. I called and told her that. She said we had to be there in 15 mins. I said I couldn't be there in 15. More like 20-30. She put me on hold, came back on and said ok go ahead and come. So I did. Got there 30 mins late and she told me they couldn't do it. I left, angry, called to talk to a manager. The receptionist argued with me on the phone. I guess I'm glad this happened. It will never happen to us again. We are never going back!

We moved to Ankeny a year ago and our dentist retired. We needed a new one so my husband tried Hintz and liked them. So I went. Very satisfied with their service and would recommend them to anyone.

BEWARE: Deceptive billing practices!!! SILENT FRAUD.
My family member went here for a chipped front tooth, they insisted on a full mouth X-ray to which he declined. They insisted forcefully so he complied. Then they tried to charge him him the full amount for a service he did not agree to, nor did they discuss pricing prior…after being quoted $600 to fix a small chip.
When questioned they back pedaled and offered to give him a “discount” (*insert eyehe’d be happy to pay for the consult which he agreed to but not the X-ray.
Here’s the kicker: bc I referred him, they started sending ME a bill and put his balance on MY account!!!!!!! I did NOT sign any financial responsibility form for him or anything of that nature. If they do not quit harassing me with bills and calls for a service I didn’t receive I will file a claim with the BBB as I would hate for this to happen to others!

I called this place, as a new patient, about an issue I was having and they were able to get me in the next day! When I arrived there was zero waiting time and the dentist assistant was ready to get me started. The doctor was great and explained exactly what he is going to be doing and went over the whole treatment plan. Everyone was super nice and professional. I'd highly recommend it to anyone in the area.
