Newton Dental Associates

My wife and I decided to go to Newton Dental, we inquired a number of times before scheduling our preventative appointments that they cover United Healthcare and are in-network and we were told that they are and we are 100% covered based on our insurance. We followed up with additional visits for minor fillings etc as well but were soon told that they are actually out of network and specifically our dentist Dr Wagner does not accept United. In addition to this the clinic does not miss any opportunity to sell additional services so they can make more money, they should be making sure the patients feel cared for rather than that they are trying to rip people off. I have never had any prior issues with getting dental work done but Newton Dental failed to offer good customer service, their billing dept is subpar, even the equipment is old compared to other clinics in the area. I tried talking to the office staff on phone with my concerns but was told they can not do anything. I will not be returning.

I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while…. BEST wisdom removal experience as well as Invisalign. The staff is thoughtful, experienced, and thorough. Anesthesia was perfect, pre surgery instructions were clear, post surgery healing was easy with the clean extraction job(all 4 wisdom teeth). I no longer live in Boston so I am sad to leave them as a client but grateful for their job well done.

A very professional and welcoming dental practice. On my first visit I received a very thorough exam and a clear dental care plan moving forward. Highly recommended.

I’ve been a patient for many years of dr Walsh and now dr osofsky I have to say that they have responded to my needs in a caring and professional manner. Also the support staff and hygienists have been wonderful. The only suggestion I have is that the new waiting area is challenging for those who may have difficulty sitting and rising from such low couches. Also your stools are very heavy and hard to move. I always just stand. Thanks for a great service

Really great wisdom teeth extraction here! They told me everything I need to know without being overwhelming, and recovering so far has been smooth w/ minimal pain. Heidi especially was so great :)

I was extremely disappointed in this dental office with regards to their lack of professional behavior with transparency of billing. I strongly regret not reading recent reviews which mention similar problems with surprise billing.

I went for a simple single wisdom tooth extraction, which I knew my insurance covered fully. At the appointment, they started by doing a Cone-beam CT scan, and then proceeded with the extraction.

Only AFTER the extraction did they tell me that the cone beam CT scan is not covered, and that I had to pay close to $500 out of pocket. This is a large burden to pay unexpectedly, and I would have planned differently if I had known. According to my insurance (BCBS), cone beam CT is never covered by *any* BCBS dental plans. The dentist should be aware that a procedure would not be covered for the patient, and discuss that ahead of time with the patient.

But no, Newton Dental Associates shows a complete disregard for their patients' finances. Do not come here unless you want to deal with very surprising out of pocket costs!

Though, the quality of care itself was fine.

As always, my experience at Newton Dental was excellent. I received prompt and efficient attention and all my questions and concerns were answered.

I can not say enough positive things about this practice! The staff is friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk through reception to the hygienists and the dentists. They made my nervous three-year-old completely at ease and made her feel like the star of the show. The atmosphere is really creative and fantastic with live aquariums. My daughter was so thrilled to see a little present waiting for her in the dental chair and loved picking out a token and a little toy after her teeth were cleaned. Everyone who walked by smiled and said hello and was really kind. I never would have thought my nervous kiddo would let anyone clean her teeth at only barely three years old, but the staff did such a great job taking their cues from her that she is already asking to go back! Newton Dental has become a large company. It is very noisy. When you have serious dental work you want to be relaxed and quiet. I have been having dental work for over ten years. The atmosphere has changed. The dental work I have received is excellent and especially when I have has root canals. On another note, are your prices higher than that of other facilities in other towns?

I gave 1 star,because i cannot give 0,they put too much pressure for unnecessary x ray and dental exam that i already had and i didn't need another one.When they saw that i will not pay for unnecessary x ray and dental exam that i don't need,they asked me to sign a document that i give up from my insurance and i will pay everything from my pocket.They tried to excuse with my insurance,but my insurance is very good and they will cover what i needed.They care only for money,not for their patients!!!
