Doesn't even rate the one star, but had to click on it for this review. I had a recent visit which included a consultation with another dentist. Returned the results back to Riverpoint dental an hour after the consultation, which was across town by the way, and the front office accepted it and promised me the dentist would call to follow up with the results and how to proceed at 2pm when the dentist returns. A week and half later, I have yet to receive a phone call I was promised for further treatment. The front office clerk had answers before I even finished my questions, and seems to think she knows everything. You are just a number through the door, just another dental patient wanting dental work and how much $$$ they will receive from the customer and dental insurance company. There is NO genuine service at this place, something they want you think exists on their website.

I moved from Northern VA in March and had my first dental appointment at Riverpoint Dentistry on May 1, 2018. The exceptionally thorough cleaning made me wonder whether my former dentist was adequate. I am so pleased to have found Riverpoint Dentistry!

And as a mom who was scared for them I was very happy! And finding out even if can be seen here is even better! We found our family dentist!

Always a wonderful experience at Riverpointe dental! The only dentist I've ever been to that I can say is relaxing! The staff is friendly and always make sure you are comfortable and understand everything they are doing! I drive over an hour to go see them and it's definitely worth the drive!

New to the area and was needing to find a new dentist. I called and was able to get in the same day due to a cancelation. The office was clean, the staff was friendly and the office visit went very well, I am glad I found them.

Great new patient experience! The staff is generous from the time you walk in to the time you walk out. Getting your follow-up scheduled along with estimated costs helps a ton when your on a budget and need to plan for added expenses.

Went in for a a cleaning and was attended by a very friendly staff. Lorena was very helpful with my scheduling and verifying my insurance and my hygienist Sam was excellent from doing her work to answering any questions I had. I would highly recommend this dentistry for dental needs.

Had an emergency toothache. Desiree helped to get us an appointment, verified our insurance, found a problem and let me know in plenty of time to correct it! All the staff was very helpful and great! Love their late hours too!!!

Dr. Newsome and his staff are fantastic indeed! Their care and professionalism is second to none. We have been very pleased with the level of service they give every single time. We would recommend this dental office to any and everyone we know. Great dentists and every staff member working with and for them, like Dr. Newsome's crew, deserves a huge round of hugs and applause. They rock!!! 😉

After today me and my family will never go back to Dr Newsome. Last year I had 2 teeth right next to each other that needed crowns. I heard Dr Newsome was an excellent dentist so I made an appointment to have my crowns done by him. The day my crowns came in I also scheduled a new patient exam.
I was 15 minutes early to my appointment but waited 30 minuets past my scheduled time before he even can into the room. The assistant asked "are your temporaries still in your mouth" and "do you like my county music"? That was all she did, never checked my temporaries, never got the crowns ready, never even got the materials out. Dr Newsome did everything, his job and his assistants job bouncing back and forth between me and another patient. Because he was in such a hurry and trying to do two procedures at once he didn't even seat my crowns under the gums, and when he was finished he said "ok you're done" and walked out. The assistant then said "you're ready to go" and walked away too, leaving me sitting in the chair. Keep in mind I scheduled a new patient exam, i never got the exam but got charged for one.
When I called to say I wasnt going to pay for something I didn't get, they scheduled me another exam. When Dr Newsome finally did my exam he asked who did my crowns and stated they where not put in correctly and he didn't like the job. Should have seen his face when I said "you did, 2 weeks ago". He's supposed to be a family dentist but can't remember his patients and his own work? He said he would fix them and gave me a treatment plan but that was the end of that. He never fixed anything. I gave him the benefit because I know his assistants suck but after today, no more.

Today my wife goes in for her treatment. She was 15 minuets early and again waited past her scheduled time when Dr Newsome finally came in just to say he wasn't going to do anything because he was behind. Never even looking at the tooth just making my wife feel like she was a burdone because he was running behind. My wife had waited 4 weeks with a broken tooth just to see Dr Newsome hoping to have it fixed, only to have him brush her off. No one even rescheduled or called to try to reschedule her apointment. They just watched her walk out.
Now he has lost my family and I would never recomend Riverpoint Family Dentistry to any again.

He wants the truth but didn't even read his own treatment before commenting on my review.
1. He was refering to work done on my "other crowns"? Admitting he did say I had bad work done on some crowns. Well, I DONT HAVE ANY OTHER CROWNS! I only have 2 in my entire mouth, witch Dr Newsome put in.
2. He was "training" a new assistant. That's no excuse, they go to school for that and should know the basic concepts and how to be professional. With such a high turnover rate, he's always "training" new assistants. This is proved by his constant ads on crageslist looking for dental assistants. He only hires the fresh out of school inexperienced assistants because they are cheep and will work for almost nothing. he don't want to pay for good experienced assistants.
3. My wife, who is very experienced and works in this field, called and told his front office EXACTLY what was wrong and what she needed for her tooth when making her appointment. Why would she ask for an exam when she's alrady had one? He has her existing treatment plan.
4. My wife never said her tooth was not a priority, she only said there was no pain at that time. A filling had fallen out, how is not a priority? She was worried the tooth was at risk of braking or possibly needing a rootcanal. She was so concerned she was gonna pay cash to get if fixed. She let everone in that office know especially Sandra. Who made the appointment and apologised to my wife because she new what a priority this was to my wife.
5. My wife had 1 digital xray (PA) taken, witch dose not cost anything, and was giving 3 minuets of Dr Newsome time. He never physically looked at the tooth, so I wouldn't call that an exam. Not even a limited exam! He just didn't want to do the work.
