Sorry that I cannot recommend SouthEnd Dentistry. Besides my dissatisfaction at the medical treatment I received (which I do not feel qualified to rate), I do feel qualified to rate my personal experience.... not fun.

The first thing you'll notice when you walk into S.E.D is that the office is full of braggadocios marketing fluff. Copies of magazine covers showing Dr. Picot's (paid) placements in "best of" lists are everywhere. It's just weird -- to the point that it feels more like a religious cult than a medical office. I'm already in your chair, doc., you don't need to keep selling me!

But it gets worse. None of the staff (docs or hygienists) ever bothered to introduce themselves to me... and I was "handed off" to multiple staff in each of my 4 visits.

During your visit, you'll also undoubtedly notice the constant "bing" of their announcements. These announcements are Pop-Ups on the dozens of exam-room computers they use. When I asked they explained that the most important items got announced this way -- but I watched and heard 30 to 50 of these announcements during one appointment and not a single person seemed to be paying any attention to them.

But the announcements are just one example of the excessive technology in this place. Each visit you are asked to sign a bunch of waiver forms (I have never had to do this at my prior dentists)... which is fine except that they wait until you are laying down in the chair and then hand you a tiny black signature pad... while they flip through the forms on a screen that you CANNOT SEE. Yep... as they get the paperwork done you'll be asked to sign forms without reading them. "Oh, this one says you may die but we aren't repsonsible... please sign on the signature pad so we can get started."

And then there's even more excessive technology: TV's on the ceiling might seem like a nice touch, but are you really going to watch The Avengers killing aliens while you have the sound of a dental drill in your head? It turns out to be one more unnerving distraction.

And finally, just when you think its over and can't get worse.... upon exiting each and every appointment, you are made to sit alone in a "scheduling room" to wait for the one special person who can make sure that your 'treatment plan' is properly recorded in their computer system. That sounds fine except that after an hour of a painful procedure, the last thing I want to do is sit in a tiny room for 10 more minutes so that THEY can get their computers right.

Anyway, thanks for listening -- I had to vent. I think I just need to find a dentist who is more concerned with being a great dentist than he is about putting his picture on the wall, or stuffing his exam rooms with flashy new computers and TV screens. I hope your experience is better than mine.

This is by far the best Dentist I have been too. I just finished up my Zoom whitening treatment with Ashley and I couldn’t be happier. Her skill, attention to detail, and personality made it a phenomenal experience! And my results were amazing!

I have really enjoyed my experience here! They’ve been very communicative and thorough about my treatment plan, and the whole team (dentists, techs, front office, etc) has been great. Most recently I’ve been kindly assisted by Kim, a dental tech, and Terika in the front office! Also, they have way more technology than my past dentists, so they’re able to examine your teeth really throughly and make sure your bite is comfortable after treatment. I really appreciate this establishment :)

The most professional and friendly dental office I've ever experienced. I had to get three fill ins and a cleaning. Wow I also was amazed at how gentle and careful😷 the dentist was I went to sleep during the treatment 😴. love it! I will always be a returning client.

It was a great experience with Dr. Picot, he made the teeth extraction as painless as possible and Marscia was very helpful with telling me information on keeping my teeth healthy as possible

I will continue to recommend SouthEnd Dentistry to everyone! Nothing but good things to say! They are professional, they communicate well and are so accommodating. They even worked with me to make sure I had full insurance coverage for a procedure. Kind people who also do great work. Again, highly recommend!

I am always treated in a professional and friendly manner when I have a dental appt. at Southend Dentistry. My dental hygienist Carly is a delight and the rest of the staff are just as fantastic.

Amber is a very nice and gentle dental hygienist! Everything went smoothly and it's an overall pleasant experience!
Went back again today (05/13/2021) to clean my teeth and Abby did a great job. She made the whole appointment a pleasant experience and she was very kind too!

I love SouthEnd Dentistry! Everyone I come in contact with there is nice and very professional. Dr. A is great! He was very knowledgeable and accommodating regarding my level of comfort during each procedure, as well as the financial cost of the work that I needed done. This office was recommended to me and I would definitely recommend it to others as well! :)

So I came back to the office where the dental plan began. It’s been several years and needless to say, the pricing has skyrocketed.

I noticed that items were added to my dental plan and added more increase to the pricing. I asked for a detailed plan so that I can go ahead and get the total plan amount from my 401k. Six times I have tried to get the promised letter to send in to my 401k company and the letter has yet to be sent to me. The days and times continually changed and the readout was “the dr. Has been so busy that he hasn’t been able to sign the letter”. It takes 10 seconds to sign a signature to a dental plan letter. Now the office is closed until the new year. So I guess my money from my retirement isn’t good enough to give to the dentist UPFRONT may I add. I tried to be a loyal customer, but I’m very disappointed in the empty promise. So I guess I will be a new client elsewhere.
