They are committing Medicaid Fraud!!! They scheduled me 3 times for a procedure that wasn’t approved by my insurance. I recorded the receptionist this time and she became argumentative once I played the recording. The office manager is unprofessional as well. The place has went downhill since she arrived. I wouldn’t have returned if they didn’t call me with the lie that I was approved. I only did because I recorded the call and wanted to play it for them‼️‼️

I give this office 4 stars because I do have the occasional problem with timing but other than that they are great I travel from Newport news to Richmond to get good service.

Even two a top notch office staff can’t improve this place. My wife sat in the chair for over 30 minutes without even being seen by a hygienist. When the “Dr.” finally deigned to grace us with his presence he knew nothing about what procedure my wife was there to have done, which would have even been fine, but he was rude, condescending and patronizing, and engaged immediately in patient blame. They cancelled our appointment because my wife tried to explain that she had a later appointment to get to in about an hour. This wasn’t the first cancellation either. We had come previously with a 3 pm appointment and the wait room was full of other patients. I have an MBA and I understand the business need to maximize utilization, but don’t allow walk in’s to supersede your appointments. Poorly run business with a bad doctor, I’m sorry to say. It takes quite a lot to upset me, but when my wife comes out crying after a conversation with a rude doctor, there’s a problem. This wasn’t doctor A, this was a male doctor.

Walked in today, and after scheduling an appointment on an online portal that was no longer utilized to my disappointment, but the office manager was professional, awesome and ended up fitting me in to be seen by a Dr, and have a consult to have some fillings, and a deep cleaning scheduled. The Dr was great, very empathetic, and explained everything in my dental plan. Thank you Family Dental of Virginia for giving me a awesome experience today.

I read through all the reviews and was pretty nervous that I'd be waiting for hours but that wasn't the case. I arrived at 10:15. My appointment was at 10:30. I got called back at 10:45. All the staff was absolutely phenomenal and the dentist was incredibly patient. I have pretty bad dental anxiety and he very patiently told me what he was doing and kept checking to make sure I was okay. I had such a good experience that I sent my husband to get his dental care done there as well.

This dental visit was great. The technician was great with my x-rays. The dentist was gentle and efficient. The hygenist had technical difficulties, but she was good too.
