Overall, the service is fine. No complaints there. The major complaint I have this office is that they often reschedule your appointments with sometimes less than one week's notice. I have had mine rescheduled three times. My new appointment date is more than 2 months later than my original date. I am very disappointed in their practice because of this.

I recently went to this dental office as a first time patient. The office was clean, nicely decorated and modern equipment.Everyone from the receptionists to the hygienists and dentists were very friendly and they genuinely care for you.
One think to notice. They are Darn Expensive.

I don't love going to the dentist (in reference to the "loved it" placed by
my five star rating), but i do love the fact that this Dental facility offers truly
exceptional work at affordable rates (certainly affordable based on the care
you get in comparison to other more expensive competitors).
Dr. Millen is one of the nicest, most gifted dentists to ever wield a drill.
He's also a perfectionist, judging by how he envisions the completed work.
I've recently had extensive work done (Root canal, couple crowns, fillings
galore), and if something's not quite right (even if it feels fine to me), he
makes sure it is, at no further cost to me.

In fact, this is one of the most honest dental practices i've ever encountered.
Sometimes certain procedures cannot be avoided, but if they can be avoided,
they never try to steer you towords the more expensive route.
And the front desk is exceptionally gifted in handling all the insurance
issues, sometimes as you are getting the work done.
I've never had such organized billing, it's all filed by them.
Lindsay, in particular, is absolutely fantastic with billing/insurance & scheduling
appointments that fit into your daily routines.

The office is three floors in a brownstone type building.
It's a branch of Gentle Dental, but a very upscale looking one.
You can't avoid that infamous "dental smell" that greets you in every
dental office (a sure-fire anxiety trigger, but it's not their fault), but you
can be comforted by a nice waiting area with a television and about
every magazine you could ever desire.

Wait times are non existent with both dentists i've been a patient of
(Dr. Heinstein, who'm is also great, and the fantastic, aforementioned
Dr. Millen).
I arrive, check in, sit down for one second, hear a buzzer sound,
and receive an instant, They are ready for you...

Multiple visits, and i've never waited more than a couple minutes.

Best dentist I've ever been to. I see Dr. Roz who is really professional and gentle. The front-desk staff is also really knowledgeable about insurance and billing and can answer lots of questions. I would recommend to anyone looking for a dentist in the downtown area.

I was one of many regular patients at this practice and I can tell you that their service would bring along many dedicated and happy long-term patients. I would strongly recommend this office and I am certain that you will find other patients who feel the same way. Thank you so much Newbury Dental for the superb service.

Great service. I had gum bleeding since 6 months, now I'm happy to see it stop after getting dental service in this clinic.

These people just want your money and nothing to do with your actual health. I felt completely taken advantage during my visits here. Long waiting time. The staff were friendly-ish but this would not compensate to the wrong diagnosis that they had given me.

I came in with pain in my canine - I had specified that before coming to my consultation. I checked in and waited 30 minutes after my appointment time before I was lead to a cubicle. They left an inexperienced dental assistant to take my x-rays (this is important later on). Then it took another 40 minutes before I got to see a dentist. She looked at the x-rays and told me that I had resorption. Another doctor came in and also said I had resorption and that I should have a CT scan. Picture this - a crying student who is halfway around the world from her family, and they were scheduling a tooth removal and dental implant in the next 2 weeks - a $7000 procedure. This was already $750 out of my own pocket because I was without dental insurance. I felt rushed and I didn't feel comfortable. They looked at the CT scan and they all confirmed that I had resorption.

I went to a different dental place and the doctor immediately speculated dodgy x-rays were taken and a wrong diagnosis took place because she looked at the CT scan. Lo and behold, we took clearer x-rays (comparing the CT scan side by side) and I did NOT have resorption - I did not need to have a dental implant. It looked like resorption because something was in the way so a dark spot was present. (See the picture attached)

I was livid, if I hadn't gone to get a second opinion, I would have had to go through an unnecessary procedure that would have costed me much much more than this $450 root canal surgery.

My question is - why can 3 different dentists not figure out that the x-rays were not right and just asked to have another taken? Was it about money?

I would not recommend coming here, there are better places. Do not waste your time or money with these people.

I want to thank Newbury Dental for taking care of me at a time of need. I was visiting Boston for a wedding when a tooth that had previously given me a little trouble suddenly became the most painful thing I have ever experienced. Dr. Coubrough was able to get me in right away and was incredibly understanding of the pain I was experiencing. I always like to know, in detail, what is happening, and she accomadated that by explaining everything she saw and was doing throughout the proceedure. They got me fixed up and on my way, and I am so greatful I found them.
