Edit: To remedy the situation, Aspen offered to transfer my dental records free of charge. I take back my statement that Aspen puts profit before people and I have increased my review to 2 stars.

Here is a summary of my experience.

(1) Aspen did not provide any information on how old patient records should be sent to their office. When I arrived for my appointment, the office said they could not open the files and I was forced to re-take an entire panel of x-rays. I had x-rays taken just weeks prior, and this additional x-ray exposure was unnecessary.

(2) During my cleaning, I was told that I had 7 cavities. Yet at a dental cleaning just a week prior, I was told that I had one. Aspen asked that I pay the full amount for 7 fillings before I left the office. This discrepancy and the demand for payment left me suspicious, so I refused payment and only underwent procedures confirmed by a secondary opinion.

(3) After I had been numbed and was waiting for the procedure to begin, I was told that my insurance would not be covering the cost. I had no choice but to go through with the procedure and pay out of pocket.

The staff were all really nice and the facility was great. Exceeded all expectations and I'm glad I came here. As a college student money is a problem for me, but with the free initial checkup and giving me a quote afterwards I feel that I can come up with a payment plan to get more treatment.

Absolutely the best Dental office I’ve ever been to. I am extremely afraid of going to the dentist and do whatever I need to to put things off until o have no other choice. They make you feel at ease and are very compassionate. The girls in the office Kayla, Wylie and Crystal are all amazing!!! Dr Anand and Dr. Tin are so nice a great Dentists and Oral Surgeon!! Would never go anywhere else. I will continue to be an Ithaca Aspen Dental Patient forever!!

Just horrible responsibly, I been there and they took the images and gave me the quote. I asked them to email the images to me, to show to the other dentist but after 13 days they haven't even after calling them multiple times. So, patient which is in pain should accept their price or wait endlessly to get the pictures or should do imaging again which is extreme amount of X-ray exposure in short term. So I wouldn't recommend anybody to go that place at all.

Today (1/8/2020) I am adding to my previous review. After two weeks from my last call that they told me that they will send the x-ray images, they still haven't. I called them again somebody named (Keylla) promised to follow up and send them soon but I haven't got them yet. These are happening while I have tooth pain but it seems they don't care enough.

It was good the first two years I went here. My last visit wasn't so good. After having a cleaning , I was told I needed thousands of dollars work, when six months prior, I had one cavity. It ok for cleanings, but I would recommend getting work done somewhere else. It seems they are more interested in getting insurance money than in treating the patient.

My son’s appointment was at 4:15 for a routine cleaning. After waiting 45 minutes we finally went in the room for X-rays. After the X-ray they said they wouldn’t have time to do the cleaning now, then informed my son that he had plaque buildup and needed to brush better. They requested we reschedule the cleaning for another time. I am not happy that we now have to work out a second date for the routine cleaning. I hope that they actually do it next time. If you’re a new patient looking for a dentist, find one more reliable!

I no longer hate going to the dentist. They have wonderful people working from the office to the chair! They have given me caps and bridges which saved me from having “false teeth.” I love my teeth! Also had a whitening process which has given me a confident smile.

Admittedly, I hadn't been to the dentist in a very long time due to not having insurance. I went to Aspen Dental for the first time for x-rays and an initial cleaning. I knew it wasn't going to be pretty - need 4 fillings, I have a wisdom tooth that needs to be extracted, among a few other things. Arienne, Miranda, and Dr. Anan were incredible. They were understanding, patient, and took the time to explain everything to me (in some cases more than once). However, even with my insurance, it was more than I could afford. They got me with Wylie at the front desk who helped discuss options for me and together, we found a plan that fit within my budget and got me the treatment I needed. Once everything was settled, they got me back in with Miranda right away who started the treatment plan to get my teeth and gums back in the shape they need to be!

Every time I've gone to this office, the dentists don't interact with the patients. They walk in and walk out and then the hygienist kind of expect you to walk out after. I consistently have to ask the hygienist if I'm done, if I'm getting prescribed anything, if I have to come back- basically there is no communication about what they did and their future plans for you or a goodbye. Nurses or whoever walk in and out the whole time asking about other patients and telling the dentist they have to do something in another room and then come back. This time, there was a visiting dentist who couldn't prescribe what I needed, and I had to go spend 200 more dollars at convenient care for something that she should have been able to do as a dentist to help her patient, since my follow-up wasn't for three weeks. She said she would send an ibuprofen that day, and never did. I called the office the next day to ask that dentist to send in something, was told he would, and nothing was sent again. They don't follow through or really care about you as a patient. And they don't do root canals on molars so skip the appointment here and go right to someone who will.
