I don’t typically leave reviews. I’d been having pain in my last wisdom tooth area for years. Due to an experience I had back home, I was terrified of having this one removed due to the intense pain I had for weeks from the first surgery. It got to the point that the repeated infections were unbearable and I reached out to Aspen Dental in Richmond. I told them I felt it was an emergency due to the infection and pain and they got me in the next morning. I figured it would just be a visit, get it looked at, prescribed antibiotics, and then fight with the pain for 2-3 weeks before I could come back and have it removed. They weren’t like that at all. I asked if they could possibly take it out that day and they 100% accommodated me. The price was very reasonable. They discussed other options with me and in total, I spent less than $500 to not only have it removed, but also 2 extra appointments to take care of other things they found. The pain after the surgery was horrible for the day which was to be expected. What surprised me the most was the next day, I didn’t even need pain medication. I was warned about going to Aspen Dental from a few of my friends but in an emergency situation, I made a choice and it was absolutely the right one. This is where I’ll go from now on! They impressed me very well and are very accommodating and I appreciated the work they did. Thank you guys!

I had an overall good experience at Aspen, despite getting some bad news regarding what dental work lies ahead. My only complaint was that I was not greeted well, which leaves an impression on someone who is already nervous, and that the staff didn't do a very good job explaining what was done during exams. I have a lot of anxiety about the dentist due to bad experiences in the past and I didn't quite receive the comfort I was hoping for. While the staff could've done a better job at easing my nerves, I also had an overall good experience with the dental staff. The facilities were clean and felt safe. The head dentist who saw me tried to understand what my fears were and made an effort to make me feel comforted. Even if he didn't put my mind completely at ease, I at least felt a peace about my dental future at Aspen after the visit.

I had a tooth causing me pain for over a week, tried many dentists, soonest appointment was 10 days away. I went online searching, came across Aspen , scheduled an appointment online for next day! I was very impressed, everyone was nice, informative and clean office. They have my future business, dentist need to have appointments available for people in pain. Great place!!

I only gave them 1 🌟 because there wasn’t a zero. My husband went here to get his teeth pulled and to get dentures. The first set was hideous and wouldn’t stay in his mouth to even eat mashed potatoes. After a couple visits to get some help he finally got to see a dentist versus a tech. At this point we just wanted our money back to go somewhere else. The dentist did agree the fit was off and they agreed to make a new set. Well they were some better but still not a good fit and the teeth are so small you can’t even tell he has any in. Today we had an appointment with another local dentist and are having to fork out money for a new set of dentures. Since going there we have encountered others who’s experienced the same issues with them. And the new dentist said he was the 2nd one she’d seen today that had went there and had bad experience. We chose this place because the hours accommodated his work schedule. Now he’s having to miss work anyway to get things corrected that they couldn’t. Don’t waste your time, money or put your well being at stake with this organization. And it’s not just the office we’d gone too but others in our region that different ones had shared their experiences with us

BEWARE: this place is a scam!

I called to set up an appointment for my son, age 13, to be evaluated for invisible aligners. The person on the phone took all the information, including my son's DOB (which means they knew his age!), and then stated that the initial appointment would be complimentary (free).

When we arrived at the office, the receptionist took our pre-filled paperwork, which we brought along, never looked at it, handed us an iPad which asked us the exact same information, and then after a wait, told us she had spoken to the doctor, who stated that unless we allowed them to do a full initial exam, cleaning, and fixing of any prior issues, they could not even evaluate him for aligners. The charge for the initial cleaning? $300! (It wouldn't be a free exam since he was under age 21.)

I stated that we have a regular dentist who does regular cleanings, and his last cleaning was less than 6 months ago, and that there were no issues that needed to be fixed. They did NOT offer to request records from our existing dentist. The receptionist simply repeated that if we did not allow them to perform the full cleaning, initial exam, and fix any existing issues, he would not be able to be evaluated for aligners. She also stated that after doing those tasks, they may decide aligners were NOT suitable for him.

I asked if they could simply take a look to see if aligners would be suitable for him, but again she repeated the same statement that we must have them perform a full exam, cleaning, and fix any existing issues, before they could evaluate him. It felt like we were speaking to a robot.

Needless to say we left immediately.

This is not an honest way to treat people. I should have been told all this on the phone when making the appointment. Yes it says in the fine print in the terms and conditions that patients must be over 21 to receive the free exam. I failed to notice this before calling. But they knew his age at the beginning when setting up the appointment, and still stated that the initial appointment would be complimentary.

The tip off was that they didn't offer to request his records from the existing dentist, and insisted on performing all the work again: the cleaning and initial exam etc for $300.

My experience with the Aspen Dental staff has been nothing but positive everytime I go in! I've been in the office 6 times this year and all the staff are always friendly and helpful. I had a wisdom tooth extracted this week and felt no pain with either the shots or the extraction! I can't say enough good things about this office and have been referring all my family and friends!

Hey so I had a better than expected experience, not only was it my first visit to a dentist in countless years, I had expected to be examined and sent home with some antibiotics and rescheduled to return for a much needed extraction however, the Dentist and his staff provided me with a care plan, immediate applicable financial aid for the care plan and extracted a seriously bad tooth right then and there. I can eat without suffering now and soon I can smile without feeling profiled negatively by society any longer! I would refer Aspen Dental to anyone with a mouth instantly. Much appreciated and professional service is hard to locate these days but I got lucky. You will too if you choose Aspen Dental I promise.
