Laurelwood Family Dentistry

Just went here for the first time. So far, this is the best dentist office I've ever had, and I've had some good ones. Everyone here is pleasant with not only patients, but each other as well. They recommended some treatments, but never pushed, and I already have the trust with them to take their advice. Highly recommended!

I had a scheduled extraction (which was unnecessary, I now know it should have been a root canal), and it started to snow/ice and schools let out early. Because of this, I needed to cancel to go get my children from school. They told me I would be charged for not canceling with notice. It was awful!! There was no question i would be charged. Finally my mom drove through the ice to get my kids so I could keep my appointment. Then they checked my blood pressure before they can do the extraction, duh, it was high!! So glad it wasn’t done that day after all that. Beyond stressful.
The staff was rude and the dentist put out for wasting his time. I have never been treated so poorly and the lack of understanding was unbelievable. I will never be back!!

The place is clean. The equipment looks modern. My dental hygienist, Latoya, was very nice and did a fantastic job. I'm dropping a star because the price I was quoted for two crowns is far more expensive than what other dental providers in the area charge. I was able to get the same work done for a much more reasonable price elsewhere. I won't be back and recommend that you price check with other dental providers before you get overcharged at this office.

I didn't see a dentist for years. I finally went to Laurelwood a couple of years ago, and instantly regretted not going sooner. They helped me ease back into oral care, managed 1 problem tooth I had, and have slowly gotten me back into a good routine with my personal habits. My last cleaning was today, and it went great due to the precision and care of the staff, Dr. Ertl's magnanimous nature and professional approach, and Latoya's warm, expert, and careful skill with cleaning procedure. Wonderful people. Wonderful service. Always happy to go now with 0 anxiety or worries.

This practice is working hard to keep their customers happy. Dr. Ertl is very proficient and capable and I've been happy with the work he has performed. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant for a dental practice. Plus if you don't have dental insurance they have a program for that, which seems to be a very good deal.

Modern dental atmosphere, friendly professional staff. I’ve been a patient here for several years and during that time I’ve never had any issues. Oral Care plan is well explained with goal of proper oral health.

Dr. Ertl and his team are absolutely amazing. I have never had a better experience at the dentist. After years of avoiding the dentist, I reluctantly made an appointment, and was overwhelmed by the level of care and professionalism exhibited by the entire team. I have nothing but positive things to say about them.

Scam artist, Rip Off, Inhumane treatment and overall terrible experience.

I watched my wife go through treatment at Laurelwood for the last year. She was referred by another provider for specialty work. The first tooth was "fixed" and felt off but she was told to give it time and prepare for the second tooth to be fixed in a few months. Her jaw has hurt as a result of this imbalance the whole time. After repeated calls they refused to adjust it and continued to request that she wait until the other side was fixed. During the appointment for the second side there was a delay at the front desk due to an insurance update. This took several minutes and after it was sorted out my wife was told that she had missed her appointment and had to forfeit a $500 deposit!! Keep in mind she was on time and the delay was with their staff. After convincing them to take payment and let her keep the appointment they said her card wouldn't work further delaying her appointment. They made her feel embarrassed and accused her of not being able to afford the payment. Turns out their equipment wasn't working properly and the initial payment processed just fine. Finally she got the second tooth fixed and went on her way. After a few weeks the first side still hurt so she returned. When she asked if they would bur down the long tooth they refused and said that she would need to go through another initial evaluation, workup and scheduling. This is for the tooth that they said would be fine after the second one was fixed. The same tooth that they said to wait on working on until after the second tooth was fixed. She requested that they simply bur it down but they refused to do so without another several hundred dollars of workup.

So, in the end we are out several THOUSAND dollars, have two new teeth and a painful bite. The business model for this practice is profit driven, poorly executed and without concern for patient feelings or input. Avoid this provider at all costs. There is no reason to treat people like this and plenty of dentists to go to that treat people like people and not a checking account.

The owner replied with what appears to be a stock response and is irrelevant to our experience. I stand by my statement.

The dentist and my hygienist are both experienced and gentle. Office is helpful and wait times are very minimal.
I use the in-office insurance plan which allows affordable pricing.
I especially appreciate the oral cancer screening performed routinely each visit.

The staff is very friendly and professional. It was a wonderful experience. As much as it could be considering I was in “the chair” 2 1/2 hours. Thank you and I have had no problems after returning home.
