I have experienced exceptional care at Laurelwood Family Dentistry. I really appreciate that Dr. Ertl uses the most up to date dental technologies and equipment. The hygienists have been very thorough and attentive and Dr. Ertl spends a great deal of time explaining what he thinks should be done and why. As a health care consumer, Laurelwood Family Dentistry is exactly what I expect in this day and age and I'm grateful to have found them.

Staff and Dr Ertl are great! From standard teeth cleaning, to more complicated work to billing, everyone is always extremely competent, kind, and soothing. I always have a good experience and highly recommend!

I have been coming here about two years now and have always been treated respectfully and with care. The staff and Dr Ertl are always friendly and professional.

Worst experience for a first time patient. Initial phone call and appointment set-up was great. However, I had made an appointment and while driving there, they called to cancel while I was pulling in the parking lot 15 minutes before my actual appointment. Rescheduled appointment was made two week later. I show up two weeks later for my rescheduled appointment and somehow in those two weeks they raised my price by $200! $200! When asked how the price went up the response I got was "looks like they added some more things". Not ok and definitely not ok when someone doesnt have dental insurance. I walked up since there was nothing that they could do and I wasnt going to pay the increase.

This dentist office lacks professional etiquette and corporate social responsibility. Thank goodness for competition which allows patients the option to seek care else where. Dr. Ertl and his staff seem to have forgotten that without patients he has no practice. Without a practice his staff will have no employment. I'd be curious what is actually in their practice mission statement. Unfortunately, ultimately Dr. Ertl's reputation will be the demise due to the practice arrogant policies.

I called the day before and let them know it's an emergency and I'm in lots of pain and asked if they could pull the tooth. Never did they say they weren't going to. I paid 128 up front for nothing but a routine visit which my insurance covers. Over a month ago and I'm still waiting for them to refund my money. I asked if they'd send a copy of x-rays now no one is answering. So frustrated!!

Latoya is a great hygienist. I loved her, but the rest of the practice I did not. The insurance lady is kind, but struggles to get accurate quotes, if any at all. The dentist won’t refer you out when asked to places like TMJ specialities or an Orthodontists, claiming they can do everything in house. The young girl at the desk, not a trained hygienist, takes the xrays and does not check records to see if you are due, resulting in a bill insurance does will not cover because they took xrays twice that year, yet she insisted they should be taken.

Just had a pleasant visit at Laurelwood Family Dentistry. All the staff was friendly as ever. My cleaning and exam went smoothly, even though everybody was wearing their PPE's.

I was able to walk right in for my appt at 6:00 in the evening. Staff was professional, confident and friendly. Dr. Ertl has been my dentist for over four years and I will continue to go here and recommend him to others.

Even before I have had my first appointment with the practice I have become very dissatisfied with the services. My family and I were perspective new patients to the practice but after my experience yesterday and the wrong information I was given I do not see us as being patients of LFD. My daughter had a minor emergency yesterday and became ill. After picking her up at day camp and getting home I called the office to reschedule. I was told that the policy is 48 hours’ notice and I would be charged $25. First, I was surprised that it was 48 hours. Any placed I’d been before was 24 hours. Second, as a new patient that had not even been there before I was surprised that there was no leniency for this and was firmly told I would be charged $25. As I was reading over the LFD policy I saw that It talked about broken appointments but said that on the SECOND broken appointment there would be a $25 charge. There was NO mention of a charge for first time cancellations. I don’t know if the person who I spoke too did not know the policy or if she was just trying to get money out of us one way or another but I find that the lack of knowledge and understanding on your employees part to be pretty poor. Why could the employee at least say that since I was a new patient that she could wave the charge this time, since I may not have had an opportunity to read their policy? (which she stated wrongly to me anyways!) This is the second place we have tried that has put money above the patient.

Second, my appointment was for today at 9AM but their website says they do not open till 10AM. It does not matter because I would have had them to cancel my appointment anyhow and as for my wife and my daughter, I have canceled there’s as well. LFD have been notified of theirs in plenty of time.

Update: I talked to them by phone and it has been Amanda that I had talked with. She said that if NEW patients cancel then they are charged the first time. This is NOT spelled out in their policy anywhere. Sounds like policy is made up as they go along. Also sounds like poor customer relations because I just wanted to RESCHEDULE at first. I was still going to come in at a later date. Her demeanor was nonchalant, aloof and insincere. It did not seem to matter what my experience had been and offered no help to resolve. I guess she is nice to the ones they are already getting money from and till you pay something you'll get the cold shoulder.
