NorthStar Dentistry For Adults

This was the best dental experience I have had. First of all, the receptionist was great. When I called to make an appointment I expressed that I would like to try to get in earlier. She said she would call me back if they had a cancellation. She was true to her word. She even called me by name when I walked in without having met me. My hygienist, Amber, was great as well. She really took the time to talk to me, to see if I had any concerns about anything. After my cleaning, I met the dentist, Dr. Merrill. We chatted for a bit and then he looked at my mouth. He checked my bites, my joints, my teeth, my throat, my gums, everything related to my mouth. It was truly great. He was so warm and welcoming, as well as everyone on staff. Close to the end of the visit, I was told that they bake bread everyday in the office. They offered me the loaf of lemon poppyseed bread! One lucky patient will get one daily! Everyone in the office is just so nice and I really felt like they wanted me to have a great experience. I did. I have no doubt that you will have a great experience as well!

The staff at Northstar was exceptional from my very first visit!! Dr. Bunn and his assistant Jasmine explained every part of my process and made me feel very comfortable while going through my procedure.

I was more than pleasantly surprised with my visit to Northstar today! Honestly the initial phone call to set my appointment almost made me choose a different provider because the particular person who answered the phone that day just seemed like she wasn't interested - for lack of a better term-, and having already dealt with an office I felt was not being very ethical, I didn't want to deal with more foolishness in any form. But as fate would have it, I got a call about an earlier appointment opportunity and I took it. Firstly, the dang smell of the office actually made me think for a hot second that I was in someone's home, bc it smelled like pumpkin pie or some kind of dessert. I said to myself 'that's a great candle'. Turns out they were actually baking something! I got in fast after filling out some paperwork, and it was great from that point on! AMBER was AMAZING! Super thorough, super knowledgeable, great conversation, and I felt like she was totally honest with me about what was going on inside my mouth. The office had a fantastic Playlist as well. The dentist himself was very nice also, but the star of my show was Amber! As far as dental offices go I'd definitely recommend Northstar based on my experience there!

I actually travelled many miles from out of State for my treatment- worth every mile!!
The care I received at Northstar Dental was EXCEPTIONAL!! The staff was wonderful and paid special attention to make sure I was comfortable during my 2 visits. The work I had done is beyond beautiful!! Highly recommend!

I have a very complicated case and went to Dr Merrill based off of the reviews on here . I'm writing this because I would have liked to hear this experience. I have never written a negative review about a person and struggled with posting but feel it's important. From having lots of negative experiences with dentists in the past (many oral surgeons , orthodontist and general dentists agree) and subsequent damage to my teeth due to poor care. This caused a great deal
Of emotional pain as well as physical . Anyway, after many years of avoiding continued dental
Care I researched and found Dr. Merrill. His staff and wife Natalie are lovely as well as Steve the therapy dog. I initially saw Dr Brunn who referred me on to Dr. Merrill. Meeting with Dr Merrill he asked me numerous times what I would like my smile to be . I expressed that sure I would like a million dollar smile but I do not have a million dollar budget . This kept on. At one point I was speaking with his wife Natalie and was a bit upset - At that point Dr Merrill looked past me and stated to his wife "I can't with her! she's too unraveled!" . He was short tempered and unprofessional. I left this visit very upset.

My hopes with this review is to help someone else who may have some uneasy feelings surrounding dental work. It's clear to me that Dr Merrell is highly insensitive with people whom have had a bad dental experience as well as people who may not have $50,000 to allocate to a Hollywood smile.

Deviant in insurance collection s. Put claims in before actually performing any work. $$$. Would not recommend!

High Tech, High Touch

I have never encountered anything approaching as great as my first visit to Dr. Merrill and his extraordinary staff. Conveniently located, great facility, easy parking, comfortable setting akin to a boutique hotel lobby rather than a waiting room. Caring and clearly competent staff. State of the art equipment. Well informed re: my insurance coverage.
The goody bag as I left was nice touch, but taking home a loaf of just-baked bread - over the top. And a paraffin dip hand treatment while my teeth were being cleaned, nice......
I have been fortunate to have had a brother-in-law as my dentist for 30+ years, so I have a good feel for what goes on. Having moved to NC from Ohio, I needed a local Dentist. If you are looking, stop! Go see the folks at NORTHSTAR Dentistry for Adults. They exceed expectations.
BTW - my wife had her first appointment the same day and concurs. NORTHSTAR is something special.

Going to visit a Dentist Office is usually not pleasurable, however me and my family’s experience with this office has been amazing. Everyone associated with NorthStar is always pleasant, and treats it’s patiences with the utmost respect and care! A special shoutout to my favorite Hygienist “Amber”, who is an artist in her craft!!

I rarely provide online reviews, but am making an exception here. Dr. Merrill and his team are fantastic. In addition to providing excellent dental services, the overall experience at NorthStar Dentistry for Adults is first class. I recommend Dr. Merrill and his team to anyone with dental issues, big or small, who is looking for a qualified professional and a caring, pleasant environment.

I found the practice while visiting another doctor across the hall. Decided to drop in and inquire about practice and hours. I was really excited about what Peggy, the Office Manager told me, so I got some paperwork and brought it back the same day. I also got an appointment for the next week.

When I returned for my dental cleaning and exam, Jillian, Dr. Merrill and Steve the Therapy Dog made this the best dental I've ever had.

The great care and professionalism shown to me, by Dr. Merrill and his entire staff,put me at ease; when he told me that I would need to come back and have some silver fillings replaced.

He explained that one of my silver fillings was broken in half and there was cavity forming.
Dr. Merrill has replaced my fillings. Northstar Dentistry has a patient for life.
