Just had the most painless and pleasant dental appointment to replace an old crown. Never felt any pain and they were so quick and efficient! I had Steve the therapy dog in my lap the whole time, it doesn’t get any better than that!

I had the most positive and unique experience today at Northstar Dentistry. This was my first visit. I was warmly greeted by Haleigh and Peggy. They genuinely took an interest in getting to know me, asking about me and my family. I was escorted to my room by another wonderful lady, Natalie, Co Owner and wife of Dr Merrill. She took the time to get to know me as well. She asked what brought me in today? I told her my teeth are a mess. Truth be told I was a little embarrassed about my teeth. She was very understanding and positive. She then introduced me to her husband, Dr. Merrill. He was wonderful, knowledgeable, professional and down to earth. He gave me hope that with the proper treatment plan we could get my teeth back to looking and feeling good. He was able to repair one of my teeth that had been giving me a lot of problems.

Here is what sets this dentist office apart from any office I've ever visited. During my treatment I had the choice of getting a paraffin hand treatment, which I glady chose. It was awesome! I then asked Natalie what that wonderful smell was and she said, "baked bread." Everyday they make a loaf of bread and give it to a patient. Natalie said they wanted to make the office as home felt as possible. They definitely accomplished that! Before leaving, guess who got the loaf of bread? You guessed right, me! I can't wait til my next appointment! When was the last time you were excited about going to the dentist?

I recently began treatment at NorthStar Dentistry for Adults with Dr. Merrill in Huntersville NC. I first off want to express how accommodating the office is. They worked with me to fit around my schedule, and have scheduled online with me since I am unable to access my phone at work. When you enter the office it is quiet and calm with a coffee bar, fireplace and complimentary hot aromatherapy towels, and hand treatments available. Peggy at the desk was amazingly friendly and remembered personal things about me after just one visit! It was very flattering and made me feel much more comfortable about my cavity fillings!
Dr. Merrill is very straight forward and takes the time to sit and explain every procedure and the why behind what he is doing. He gives you options as well as recommendations for long term dental health.
Today I was seen in his office for an emergency filling of a cavity in my front incisor. I had enamel erosion and a painful cavity. He fit me in and fixed this plus two other cavities. He and Natalie also explained to me about my night clenching/grinding and he fit me for a De-programmer that will inhibit future damage. Because they are out of town next week for a conference, he is doing a rush job and getting it to me by tomorrow!
My whole life I have had horrible teeth. I called myself a "jack o Lantern" until I got my braces off at age 18. Even after my braces, my front teeth looked strange due to shifting and enamel erosion. I barely smile in photos due to insecurity. When I saw the work he did today I literally cried I was so amazed to see the difference. I no longer feel like my teeth look like a monster. I cannot thank him and his team enough. They have helped me overcome my fear of dentists, and also feel more confident in my smile. Finally I can show my teeth!
I highly recommend this dentist to anyone searching. He is extremely knowledge, honest and skilled. There is such a comfortable, caring feel and you will feel like you are accepted into the family.

The office is extremely clean and the staff was fantastic. For first time patient, they immediately took me back. The Dental Assistant was very knowledgeable of all my questions, and the Dentist did the most thorough dental exam I have ever received.
Will definitely return.

Best dental experience I've had yet. Quick, (relatively) painless 😏, lots of great info explained by Amber and Dr. Merrill. Competitive pricing and a warm inviting atmosphere made this dental cleaning a dream. Highly recommended. Dr. Merrill knows his stuff.

I am a new patient here and got some extensive work done post orthodontic treatment. They were recommended by my orthodontist and I have had a very good experience so far. They are a class apart as compared to my previous dentist. It would be safe to say I am not going back to my previous dentist. Plus these guys do paraffin wax for hands while the doc is working on you.
I would highly recommend them.

Best dentist experience I've ever had. They have a warm, attentive, and friendly staff. The whole time I was there for my visit, which lasted about 30-40 minutes, I felt right at home. We talked and joked about many things without sacrificing care and detail towards my teeth in the process. Would recommend to any and everyone.

Tracy at the front desk was so welcoming and kind. Amber (dental hygienist) was very thorough and professional. Dr. Merrill has wonderful bedside manner. Highly recommend this practice
