On vacation from Arizona with a toothpick stuck in my gums... I called at 10:00 am on a Friday and Christmas Eve eve and they got me in at 3:00! I was in so much pain that I begged the dentist not to touch it! Ha! Hard to do an exam and not touch! But she did it. I'm on the road to recovery 24 hours later thanks to this office! The Doctor was so sweet I burst into tears when we were done! The entire staff was amazing to this out of towner... you all saved my vacation and Christmas!!

Today I had to get 3 fillings... I was in and out in 30 minutes! I had chosen to refuse novocaine which helped, but these ladies worked like a well oiled machine! Fast and yet gentle. I definitely recommend Aspen!

The personnel are wonderful and professional. They are very gentle....the novacaine shots caused the least trauma to my mouth and the deep cleaning was oh so gentle. So far, I have had a deep cleaning and a chipped tooth repair. My only disappointment is that I find them very pricey as I am on a limited income.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to look elsewhere for you dentistry needs.

Short version: They misdiagnosed me with moderate periodontal disease and wanted $2000 to perform a root planing and scaling (SRP). Went to another dentist who could not figure how they came up with said diagnosis and said I have healthy gums and no bone loss.

Long version: Like many others, I was attracted to Aspen because of their free x-rays and exams they offer to patients without insurance. Having not been to a dentist in quite some time, it was a relief that the initial visit would not put me out financially. I can give them kudos that their staff and office are all inviting and welcoming. But, behind that is a corporate machine that is trying to meet quotas and make sales. I did not know what corporate dentistry was before visiting Aspen, and because of this experience I will never trust them or anyone similar to their business model.

Now, to explain my visit at Aspen. I began with the x-rays, which went fine. And then was brought back for the hygienist. I was informed she was checking my gum pockets and she began saying an array of numbers to an assistant who was recording them. After doing so, she informed me that I had moderate periodontal disease and moderate bone loss. I'll be honest, I had no idea what periodontal disease was, so I had many questions. I asked about symptoms and cause and I was brushed off with ambiguous answers that didn't put me at ease. I exhibited no symptoms for having such an advancement of this condition and she didn't seem overly concerned with explaining how it develops. But, she did recommend a deep cleaning (SRP) or it was just going to get worse. I thanked her and told her I would think about it, but my main concern for my visit was a cavity in one of my molars and I would like to address that first . She then proceeded to try to sell me a $135 toothbrush and said that I should share my positive experience on Google. Next came the dentist. I told her of my concerns with the cavity in my back molar and asked if there were any other cavities. I was brushed off and after barely looking was told that she couldn't tell because I needed to get the deep cleaning. I told her I could see the cavity and there was another spot I was worried about. Annoyed she looked in my mouth again and scrapped one of my molars and realized I didn't have sealants and that the dark spots could be staining. But, again, couldn't tell without getting an SRP. Now, anyone who has been to a dentist and has had a cavity knows they can tell from the x-rays. No $2000 cleaning needed. I firmly believe she was there to seal the sale. And it worked, I signed up for their credit line, set my appointments for the SRP and potentially 3 fillings. And while up front and looking over the itemized bill I noticed a couple things. The $135 toothbrush, prescription mouth wash and toothpaste (each $35) were all present on the bill. Though at no point had I ever expressed interest or said I wanted. And it was here my lingering suspicion about their motives turned into all out scrutiny. After asking to remove these items I finished up and left with a really bad feeling.

Fast forward one month. At this point I cancelled all future appointments with Aspen and never went back after the initial visit. Instead I opted to try another dentist to see if that awful suspicion was unfounded. I think you can guess by the length and rating of this review that it was not. I do not have periodontal disease. I actually have more bone in my jaw than most people my age. And upon telling my new dentist about what Aspen did, they're completely confused as to how they came up with all these diagnoses.

But, I have a guess. As mentioned before, Aspen is a corporate dentistry. Think of them like a McDonald's, they're a chain. A chain that reports to a board. And on that board are zero dentists. Just businessmen. And business is all about numbers. Which, quite frankly, is all that free exam is about- $

The best dentist office I have been to. I have a PTSD when it comes to a dentist and they were all so friendly that I actually forgot about it. The office in Springfield is also an ALL women office and I think that is another reason I liked it because they made me feel comfortable. I would recommend Aspen Dental in Springfield to everybody. Thanks Lady's you are AWESOME!!!!!

So I don’t remember his name, I think it’s Ryan maybe? But I’ve talked with him several times this week regarding scheduling appt and cost. I called to schedule an for Thursday afternoon was told by a friend to ask for Stephanie (The Manager) specifically for reasons, so I asked for Stephanie I was then rudely told that He (Ryan) was the assisted manager that Stephanie was with another patient and he could help me with whatever I needed done, I then proceeded to patiently schedule an appt for Thursday afternoon with him, I ended up calling back to see if they had any available appts on Friday afternoon for fear we might not make it to the one I scheduled for Thursday. He then proceeded to inform me that that the office closes at 12 pm on Friday and I said okay I’ll have to call you back when I get it figured out. Never once did I say to cancel the appt for Thursday afternoon. In the midst of communicating with my fiancé I thought I would just book another appointment for Friday afternoon with the office in Eugene. Just in case, then I would call back and cancel with the Eugene office once I figured out if we could make to the one in Springfield. I got it situated so that we could make it to the scheduled appt on Thursday. The office was already closed and I didn’t deem it necessary to call back just to tell him we were coming to the original appt I had scheduled assuming that that one was still booked being as I never said to cancel it, and I was calling to reschedule not to cancel anyways. We show up this after noon, only to be told that he doesn’t have an appt for him in this office that he canceled the appt and that the only one popping up is one in Albany?! First of all why would the appt be canceled when I didn’t cancel it and I don’t even know where Albany is. And I would not schedule an appt in Albany. I called the Eugene office to schedule one in Eugene. He then proceeds to tell him once we got everything worked out that it would $115 for the visit which was supposed to be an overall exam and which he told me was free of charge on the phone! I am beyond my patience with this “assistant manager” and will be calling to make a complaint on him first thing in the morning. I wouldn’t say I don’t recommend this office but I recommend this office find a new Assistant Manager.
