Avoid if possible. They use predatory practices to get you to pay for procedures that you do not need. They don't really see you as a patient or even a human, more as a mine for your insurance dollars.
Edit: I had the same experience as a couple of people posting below. I was forced to pay for upcoming visits before they would allow me to schedule them. Then when I looked at the itemized bill later, I saw that it included a $135 electric toothbrush, and a bunch of overpriced rinses and toothpastes that I did not ask for, and am not convinced that I need. Reprehensible, heartless, money-grubbing scoundrels.

Stay away from here. Recently moved to State College and needed to schedule a routine cleaning. I had the same exact experience another reviewer (Melinda Hancock) posted a month ago here. I always have had a good dentist and have been keeping up with my dental health. They were trying to convince me I needed deep cleanings and antibiotics for over $4000. I mentioned I did not want to pay that much, and the office manager recommended trying without the antibiotics first but still had to pre-pay just over $600 for my upcoming visits. After I took a second look at the treatment plan at home, one of the line items was that they were going to charge me $135 for an electric toothbrush. At that point, I couldn't trust them any longer so I walked in the next day to request my x-rays, cancel my appointments, and request a refund.

I cannot say anything negative about how I was treated. The staff was very courteous. However, they tried to scam me. I left my long-time dentist who I trust and is very upfront with any upcoming issues to go Aspen because they were in my network. I was refused service (basic teeth cleaning) because I denied a special treatment for periodontal disease and an infection in my gums, when in fact, a true professional confirmed that I do not have this issue. The special treatment would have cost me close to $1000! My insurance did not cover this treatment. While I was there, I heard the same hygienist tell three other patients that they had periodontal disease and required special treatment. Beware of recommended treatment and get a second opinion!

There may be nothing wrong with the doctor, but he isn't the best. On my first visit, I was charged $287 they told which was not covered by my insurance. Additionally, I was told that I owe only this amount for my entire treatment, and the rest will be paid by my insurance. During my third visit, I was asked to pay $150+ for antibiotics that were not covered by my insurance. They also charged my insurance for the full amount I had already paid though financing. Insurance paid much more than they had anticipated. This is certainly double-dipping, which is truly unprofessional. First time I even had to use financing to make the remaining payment of $287. My last visit was on 03/17/2022, and we had a brief argument. I asked them to refund the extra payment for my first visit of $287 which is already paid by my insurance. But I am unsure if they will pay it back. Their greedy and unprofessional attitude has truly disappointed me.

The dentists and hygienist here are truly amazing. Ive been terrified of the dentist my whole life, but I needed a lot of work done. They did a wonderful job on my teeth, as well as hold my hand for the shots and reassure me throughout the whole process. Wonderful people here, you can tell they really care about you and your comfort and safety and they are very well trained and amazing at what they do. Thank you Aspen for making my experience a good one!

I was very nervous about my appt. I have had alot of bad experiences with other dentists. The people at aspen dental were very compassionate and kind. They explained everything i needed to have done. They started a deep cleaning on my teeth and talked to me the whole time explaining everything as they did it. I would 100 percent refer anyone to aspen dental. Thank you for being so kind to me.

Extremely friendly and professional staff. I am not a fan of going to the dentist in general, but my first visit to Aspen Dental was quick and smooth. They eased my nerves about a surgery I need to get done and were diligent in explaining everything I needed to know. They even gave me a payment plan for the work I need done since I do not have dental insurance.

All the staff I’ve interacted with has been kind and helpful. Everyone there works extremely hard to help educate you on your situation and make your smile great. I have major appreciation and respect for all in office, their job is not easy. Thank you for helping with my smile 😁😁😁

My anxieties were obvious and were quietly dealt with. Everyone went out of their way to be kind to me, were very patient with me, and explained things to me. I think although I haven't had the procedures yet, this team will see that everything will go well. And if there are problems I'm quite certain they'll be able to handle them.
They even offered me an alternative of other dentists because of how anxious I was and whom offered sedation. I turned their offer down because I do my homework and Aspen's team were very highly recommended and scored. Will be smiling prettily soon- just in time for my Nevada grandson's wedding.

It's a little expensive to do the cleaning they suggest. I'm assuming it's because I have so many problems. The staff are super nice and they would have sweet conversation with me every time I go there. I'm scared of dental work, but Dr. Rupenagunta(I hope I got it right. It's a bit long for me to remember ) has a super soft voice which comforts me a lot. Heather is so sweet and friendly as well. I can tell that she truely cares about me. With all the negative reviews i saw, I might just luckily have got the two best people to take care of me.
