Avoid this dentist!
Being a student, I came to University Family Dentistry to establish care with a local dentist and get a routine cleaning . I was told during the cleaning that I had 4 cavities and the estimate for fillings was $900, with $500 out of pocket cost. I was skeptical because I’d never had a cavity before. A second opinion from my regular dentist back home confirmed that I have no cavities. I’d avoid this dentist, unless you want costly and unnecessary dental treatment.

I really do not look forward to going to the Dentist. But I have to say they do everything they can to make you feel as comfortable as as possible. Very professional staff is great from front desk to hygienist, even to my favorite Dentist DR Dickens!!

I had been to three different dental offices in Gainesville that I hated, and was dreading yet another. What a pleasant surprise to find this office. They were very nice on the phone, got me processed and in to the doctor quickly, and the exam was VERY thorough.
I needed a same-day root canal and they fit me in for that, even though it was a 2-hour procedure. The Doctor did an amazing job explaining everything and made me feel very comfortable with what was happening.
The front desk staff walked me through the cost and helped me sign up for a discount plan that saved me $700 right then and there. Total for a complicated root canal and crown was $2000 (no insurance).
They have a great new customer special...$59 for a full exam and cleaning.
Highly recommend this office.

I've just relocated to Gainesville and was experiencing excruciating pain when this office was recommended to me. I called to schedule an appointment to get in so I can establish myself with the office. I called the office explained to them the issues and they scheduled me the next morning. Well long story short, but they figured out that my molar was cracked down the center and they couldn't salvage it. They had to do an extraction. Dr Diaz and the staff are AMAZING! They stayed well after closing to get the job done and I am forever grateful to her and the staff! I am 40 years old and I've never had any major dental work they made me feel at ease and well taken care of. Thank you to the Dr and the awesome staff!
