Although I have yet to receive treatment, I just want to thank Maritza at the front desk. She was absolutely amazing!! So sweet and extremely helpful. She is also quick and efficient in her position. I saw that her upbeat positive attitude shines through with everyone she encounters. Really grateful for her help and attentiveness. ♥️ God Bless 🙏🏼

Unfortunately when working with any type of government funded agencies there WILL be a long wait. I don’t mind ever waiting for an hour on the phone because I get it. They’re busy.
However the people on the phone are so rude. For what? I also understand that maybe they don’t speak with the most pleasant people. But if I’m being nice and respectful, why are you being rude? It makes an already stressful situation much harder. I will say that the actual dental staff and doctors there are pretty great. They’re understanding and patient. 3 stars for the phone receptions

Why it’s so hard to get an appointment, and ask a question? The dentist's office sent me a referral to the UIC to remove wisdom teeth. I try to walk in to ask question about insurance, and make an appointment but they are not allow to walk in and also no one answer my question, They just told me have to call. When I called the phone number , they give to me. I've been on hold for an hour before someone picks up. When someone picks up, she told me have to call different phone number. When I call different phone number, no one pick up, just left an voice mail. I wonder why it's so hard to answer a question. and make an appointment.

I’m going to report them to the appropriate agencies. Too many people with state insurance have no option and they are referred here and can’t make an appointment I had a referral for root canal in June and it’s Jan. I have a lump and just want an extraction but places don’t accept insurance. People don’t have the funds to go around insurance and to my understanding dental neglect has been taken seriously after children died due to not being covered. What’s the point of coverage if you can’t use it?

I arrived by 7:33am. We weren’t permitted into the oral surgery location check in until 8:10am which is understandable but the beyond rude and snarky receptionist gave everyone horrible service. I was advised by my dentist that if i arrive early i may receive treatment for oral surgery without an appointment. As they don’t answer i wasn’t able to make an appointment but once there as the 3rd person in line got told to get back in line and wait only to be told that i could get an appointment in september 2023 then got switched to june 2023. I need oral surgery much sooner than in 7 months and Uic needs better staff who can work with people properly in the front.

I wanted to thank Maritza Aguilar for a very quick and efficient help with my records. She did not waste any time, I had received what I needed very quickly without any delays. She does what she promises, thank you for being efficient, helpful and sweet!!

My review is for Pediatric Dentistry. Shira Bohr, the resident that sees my son, is INCREDIBLE! My son is terrified of the dentist. He has a million questions and won’t sit or let them touch him or anything.. she manages to give my son shots without him realizing there’s a needle involved! She calms his fears and listens to everything he asks and says! She plays his favorite songs on a loop for the entire hour appointments to keep him calm. The people that are working here actually seem to want to be here! They want to help you!! I’d also like to add that at our first appointment, the consultation, my son had been in pain from a tooth and they squeezed him into the “emergency” area to make sure that we could go home and not be in pain for the next month until the next appointment.
I would have given 5 stars but it is important to add that appointments are at least a month out and calling the place is basically impossible if you call after the first hour or so they’re open. But once you hit call the moment they open, and still somehow wait on hold for 20 minutes, and make your first appointment…… you then deal with your resident directly by email. Appointments are still about a month apart, but I’ve had a great experience with the actual facility and anyone I’ve interacted with there.

Husband is a student at UIC and has been trying for days to schedule an appointment for a critical root canal. Apparently students are unable to schedule an appointment online and he has been put on hold repeatedly for 30 minutes to an hour only to be hung up on. He burned through all the minutes on his phone and had to buy Skype credits trying to reach them. Unacceptable a UIC sponsored health organization appears unable to provide critical dental services for their students in an accessible way.

Oral Surgery department gives you the option to "leave a message," however the mailbox cannot accept anymore messages because it's full. Can't even reach the surgical department because they refuse to pick up their phones.
