Called early in the morning to make the 1st appointment and it was quick, no wait on call.
On the appointment day check i. Process was easy but the wait was long. Its worth. The wait when you are tight on budget for dental expenses.
I would recommend this to everyone.

Does anyone know how long it takes to get an appointment with them? My daughter has been having pain due to cavities and her dentist sent out a referral to UIC since JULY and I still haven't received a call!! Just took her to the dentist again and it got to the point where she needs root canals

unfortuntealy you are trapped by going here if you have medicaid and are an adult that needs treatment. try to work in advance as in Emergency cases, they can not work with the disabled or chronically ill population.
I just was tricked and lied to by an intern who represented himself as the surgeon to work on me next week! I found out at scheduling, nope! I get a mystery surgeon the day of! That doesn't work for complicated cases and all of my concerns were disregarded. Please if you have chronic illness do not let yourself get thrown into the rotating provider treatment plan. I have no idea how to get out of it myself and now am terrified for my safety as a patient there as they are not taking the time to listen to their complicated patients. It is absolutely terrifying and discouraging that they are ones only choice for dental emergency help.
the phone trees are the least accessible in the world and dont even allow you to leave a message if you can figure out what department or person you need in the first place. they max out at 15 messages but are supposedly cleared every hour. I have yet to speak with a pleasant person in the call centers. One even made it sound like a chop shop for the uncooperative peds.
multiple family members of mine need treatment here and im quite scared for our future as UIC patients

Took about 30 minutes to 1 hour to reach a live person for the urgent care. I was able to schedule an appointment with urgent care between 3 days to a week from the call. Once I got to that appointment I wasnโt able to get help BUT I was given the referral to go down to the oral surgeon. They gave me 2 weeks to come back. When I went back in 2 weeks they did a check up confirmed I needed my wisdom teeth out and set an appointment for surgery 2 months out. June 10, 2022 I got my wisdom teeth removed and had a GREAT experience.. since I arrived early I was able to get in within 5 minutes of checking in. I started my journey in late March/ early April and the process was completed in June. I will add I live 2 hours away so it was a drive but it was worth it. Medical card covered it ALL. I had to come here because nowhere near me took medical card. Hope this helps someone ๐

Been like two years since my dentist first sent them a referral for my oral surgery and they sent another one after my last cleaning in November. I have zero hope anyone will contact me or I will ever reach someone on the phone.

For one I had to be on the phone for 2 hours just to get an appointment 2 months ahead, arrive at the appointment, the nurse never acknowledged who she was, she was rude to my son, hit him with the stick to check his height, questioned me about why my child's immunization isn't up to date( thanks to covid), raised her voice at him while taking his x-rays, spoke to me in a manner where I felt belittled, another lady who works there told me she need to explain to me so I can know the right way to do it so I can do it right the next time like I don't take care of my child's teeth. I felt all the way disrespected its a better way to word it and a way better tone to speak to a parent.

I am leaving a review for people who want to get treatment from here.
After I experienced a procedure for patients here, I can tell this facility is not for a someone who needs urgent care or immediate treatment with the reasons below.
1st reason: Worst receptionists and customer service. For example, Carol Gonzales in a radiology department never picked up the phone even their coworkers transferred customers to her department. I met her in the radiology area and she was very rude and very aggressively talked to me that I need to talk on the phone outside. Unfortunately this is not just for her case but the other department such as patient records department, general care appointment department also frequently hang up the phone. This attitude and the way their talking on the phone are so rude and prevalent in UIC dentistry. (They Never say โThank youโ)
2nd: Worst time scheduling depends on studentโs semesters.
I had been waiting for 1 month for screening and need another 3 weeks for urgent care. The reason is that students need to diagnose patients first so patients need to wait until their semesters begin. The worst part in my case is when I talked to someone in urgent care, she told me that I didnโt get the second x-ray and need to have an appointment for second one. I asked why this screening wasnโt done on the same day and she said she doesnโt know. That means people need to waste more time for errors they made without any proper explanation from them.
3rd: Estimated rates are unavailable.
They donโt provide any estimates charges for treatment. Some of dental clinics still offer price range for their cares so that customers can find places offering more affordable charges. I spent $112 for first screening but another $ 75 screening is required for me to get an assignment to students. I donโt get why they sent me home after finished my cranial x-ray without doing tooth x-ray screening cause me more time and money for them.
Currently, I have severe pain in my morals and need to find another dental clinic. Even I request my x-ray record but it will take 1-2 weeks to get the x-ray.
For the people who consider having an appointment with them, donโt even try if you have pains on your tooth or can not put up with at least 3 months until get actual treatments. This is a place to trap you and rip off your money with poor customer care and service!

To make an appointment here is unbelievable.! I made an appointment for my daughter on a Thursday at 11am and I called letting them know that we were going to be at least 10-15mins late cause of traffic or if it was fine to reschedule, let me tell you first that Iโm coming from Hanover park and itโs literally 1hr away.I left my home at 9 knowing that if thereโs traffic I will still be able to make it in time but no due to a car accident and myself being there just standing not moving. When I made the schedule in person the lady never told me about not able to take my daughter in at ALL if I got there late and they canโt reschedule. Now at this moment Iโm struggling to find someone that takes her insurance and can help her with her pain and cavities.

I highly recommend not going here. I was on hold for an hour just to get told they were no longer taking appointments. I made sure to call right when they opened. I got directed to another line who never answers the phone & before I can leave a full message it disconnects. I had a referral in from my dentist since last month ( theyโre suppose to contact me, but never did). I have 2 wisdom teeth in my mouth that needs to get extracted. This place is ridiculous. Imagine them touching a tooth. Do not go here. I wouldnโt trust it.
