I had a dental emergency while on vacation in Maui. I lost a crown on one of my front teeth while biting on on something that I didn't realize was hard. This event had the potential to spoil my vacation.
I reached out and contacted the professional staff at Hawaii Family Dental Centers and was given a same day appointment to see Dr Stephen Barba. In less than two hours I had an X-Ray, and examination, had course of treatments and the pros and cons of each explained to me.
I chose the most permanent and best long term treatment and in no time, I had a new filling, as well as the Crown re-installed. It could not have been quicker, better, or more professional.
I wholeheartedly thank Dr Barba and his Dental Assistant Emily, and the whole staff at Hawaii Family Dental Centers. Great care. I got my smile back and can eat without concern and continue my vacation in Maui. Mahalo!

I love Dr. Edgar, who has extracted many of my teeth. He's always done a great job. However, as far as I can tell, it is not a policy of HFDC to covid test their employees at all. I think they should be tested weekly or even more often as Dr. Edgar sees about 12 patients/day and travels from Oahu to all the outer islands weekly. They do temperature test daily but as we now now only about 30% of covid patients, with or w/o symptoms, get fevers.

Having recently move to Maui, I'm so glad I chose this practice. Dr. Barba was very personable and thorough in his exam. The hygienist, Christy (sp?), was gentle and also very thorough. She obviously takes pride in her work. The front desk staff was very cordial. Highly recommended.

Kayleigh was great. As a new patient, she was more aware of my teeth issues than I am. She was courteous and accommodating. I’m actually looking forward to my next cleaning!

It is about 10 years now that I have been visiting, every 6 months this dental clinic. I highly recommend them. They do a great cleaning and their dentists are reliable. Their safety standards are excellent.

Got some fillings today and had a great experience as always. Everyone is always so friendly! Today was part of SPIRIT FRIDAY so staff was dressined in Halloween spirit for frightening Friday (not too frightening)! They made it fun as it's always good to be in an office with good spirit! Dr. Barba and his assistant Dakota did an awesome job making me feel comfortable and confident while I was in the chair. Dr. Barba is familiar with the problems I have and always makes it a point to address them and put me at ease.They are amazing! Thank you to everyone at HAWAII FAMILY DENTAL as it is always an AWESOME experience.

Dr. Mello and Darlene (?) were very nice. A little got lost in communication between them, but it was rectified (Doc was examining wrong tooth at first). I misunderstood the treatment plan, but a follow up call cleared that up. All in all a good experience.

Was absolutely the worst dental appointment I ever had. This place first demands that you have a complete full xray set and would not accept my xrays from my last dentist 6 months ago. I hate to have xrays jammed down your throat especially since I just had them done. This place was giving my anxiety and then they took my blood pressure which was soaring in this environment. I just wanted to get my teeth cleaned but with this treatment I just walked out!!!! beware!
