Dr. Girard is our family dentist and luckily we have only had 6 month checkups, until last month when I chipped a molar and had to have a crown. Dr. Girard and his wonderful staff alleviated my fears and made getting a crown not too uncomfortable. My new crown has arrived and fits perfectly. I would highly recommend Dr. Girard and his very caring staff!

A dental emergency on vacation. Total bummer. And yet, I could not be happier -- receptionist, dental assistant, dentist, bookkeeper, all fast, friendly, first rate. Anesthetic took full effect more quickly than usual, with no doubt about effectiveness. Totally painless procedure, and i was on my way back to the beach within minutes. Thank you.

Im very disappointed because today my 3 year old son saw the child dentist MICHELLE CHUNG, DMD at the Kihei clinic. She was friendly with my child which is why I gave her two stars. What went wrong is that even though I told her not to give my child fluoride she kept nagging me and wouldn't give it up. By the end of the appt she tried to do it again and I was able to tell her that what she's doing is rude and not ok. My mind was already made up and i didn't engage her in any way to further discuss it. She needed to let it go after she said what she needed to say as a dentist. I signed her wavier saying that I refused what she was recommending medically with no problems. When we were in the middle of the exam she went to brush this toothpaste like substance on my sons teeth and I asked her if it had fluoride in it. She said it only had a tiny bit and it was gonna be ok. It was NOT OK because I told her and signed papers saying I didn't want fluoride for my son and the fact that she did it anyway is unprofessional and it violated my rights as a parent.
I wouldn't recommend this particular dentist to a friend. I have had great experiences with some other dentists at the Kahului clinic but unfortunately they don't accept quest there. KELLY K. T. KAWAHARA, DMD is wonderful, but I think she only sees adults.
