Exceptional Dental of Mid-City

I needed to be seen with emergent tooth pain, and they got me in ASAP! The care I was given was above and beyond - I even got a warmed pillow for my neck so I could relax as much as possible AND they got me a blanket when I got cold. Dr. Colburn is absolutely fantastic! She was calming and was so quick I couldn't believe I was done when she told me. I barely even felt her numbing me up! I have terrible dental anxiety but she and the rest of the staff put me so at ease and made the whole visit pleasant. They really cared about making it easy on me and made getting two teeth extracted seem like no big deal. It was a miracle. I also must say I've never seen a team work as efficiently as they do at Exceptional Dental. I wish I could give them 10 stars!!

This was far and away the best experience I’ve had at a dentists office! I have awful anxiety about getting dental work done and typically have to be sedated, I had the option to have them administer gas to help me through the procedure (they have other sedation options as well) but ended up declining because I was showed such compassion and professionalism from the moment that I set foot in the office I was immediately at ease.

The two doctors that helped me were incredibly kind and seemed at ease working together which really helped me stay calm. I’ve never had a dentist who stayed in the room and finished my whole procedure without stepping out and working on another patient before coming back to me. This made things incredibly quick and let me know I had his full attention.

The amenities (complimentary bottles of water, coffee, the option to watch whatever I wanted on cable on two TVs during the procedure) and the cleanliness and style of the office itself had me worried that I wouldn’t be able to afford my procedure without insurance, but the prices are very reasonable. They let you know upfront what the cost of everything will be so there are no surprises, and they have a very helpful monthly plan that allows you to get free cleanings and other benefits like a percentage off of future procedures.

As I was leaving I was able to talk to someone about future visits, payment options, and was given the cost of certain procedures that I was curious about which is very helpful when you have to plan to pay for things upfront without insurance. I was never rushed through this conversation and felt like I could ask any questions I might have.

I’m excited to go back and get more work done, and I never thought I’d be able to say that! If you’re looking for a dentist I highly recommend Exceptional Dental, especially if you have anxiety, they are the best!

I've never had a bad experience with a dentist, but I always get a certain level of anxiety when I go. Everyone here did their best to help lower that anxiety and I felt much more comfortable Everyone was so nice and professional as well. The dentist took her time to thoroughly explain everything to me and reviewed all of my x-rays with me. I was worried about having cavities because I hadn't seen a dentist in 4+ years but I got a clean bill of health after my cleaning! The dental hygienist did an amazing job and was easy to talk to just like the dentist. The team clearly works well together and knows their stuff. They offer a high level of skill to be sure. If you need a dentist, I cannot recommend Exceptional Dental enough. They truly live up to their name!

The Dentist Mousse and nurse Danielle was awesome! I had anxiety and they were just a God Send throughout my surgery and visit. Ginger was such an angel when I had concerns about procedures. All the staff were very professional and I truly appreciate their superb customer service. Thank you for everything!

Everyone was great. Jenn, the hygienist, is always outstanding. Her memory and sense of humor put me at ease. I’m still not a fan of going to the dentist, but my experience with Jenn makes the twice a year cleanings seem alright. See you in February.

Excellent dental practice; always professional, attentive, and knowledgeable.

The dental work was good. However, every appointment felt rushed. The office is chaotic & sensory overload. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone with sensory processing difficulties (me included). They had infomercials with sound on playing simultaneously with radio in the waiting room, and the radio continued throughout the practice. Then the exam/procedure rooms have radio and multiple tvs. The whole place was freezing, and exam/procedure rooms don’t have closeable doors, so you’re subjected to not only sounds of dental work in your own mouth, but the sounds of tools, talking, radio, tv, etc etc.

If these things don’t bother you, then you may appreciate their efficiency and professionalism (which were both great!)! For me, I can’t go back because the environment was extremely stressful & anxiety-inducing despite the friendly staff. I would ask the exceptional dental folks consider limiting the number of sounds audible at once, using white noise, and having exam/procedure rooms that allow doors to be shut and block out the sounds of strangers getting teeth drilled.

I’ve been a patient at Exceptional Dental for several years, and I can’t say enough great things about them. Every single dentist and staff member I’ve encountered has been nothing but pleasant and extremely professional. My smile is far from perfect and I’ve never felt shamed or bullied about it. My hygienist, Rachel, is always awesome and super friendly. I’ve had a couple of fillings, one tooth extraction, and more cleanings than I can count at Exceptional Dental. In fact, I had an appointment there just last week to have some cracked fillings replaced and was a little nervous. Needles tend to frighten me, but Dr. Setti is a total pro and I didn’t even see (or feel) the numbing shot coming. His assistant, Evelyn, joked with me and made me feel at ease. I was in and out of the office is under an hour and 100% pain free.

Exceptional Dental’s setup is state of the art. They have all the latest equipment and know how to use it to their advantage. Although the office is as busy as a factory and you can tell they crank out appointment after appointment, I’ve never, ever felt rushed or ill-treated. Everyone works together like a well-oiled machine. I’m fortunate enough to have dental insurance, which covers a good bit of the cost, but their prices don’t seem to be out of line with what I’ve heard from friends and colleagues. I highly recommend Exceptional Dental to anyone.
