Exceptional Dental of Mid-City

VISIT: December 2018

I found myself on a vacation with a toothache. I tried not to say anything at first but after awhile I just couldn’t pretend anymore. I bought ibuprofen and orajel and was using it like water. It helped at first and then it didn’t and the pain was unbearable. We were in a unfamiliar city and state but I needed to see somebody.

RECEPTIONIST - I googled and found Exceptional. I called and the receptionist was super nice, understanding and helpful. She didn’t tell me they were booked. She told me they WOULD squeeze me in.

QUOTE - They quoted us $29 for an exam and about $1,000 for a root canal (as I thought I might need one).

CHECK-IN - The staff acknowledged us as we came in and after filling out five minute registration electronically, I was welcomed to the dentist office.

OFFICE - The office was modern, inviting and friendly.

DENTISTS & SERVICE - I saw Dr. Russo, who was superb. She listened to my situation and tried to identify which tooth was causing me the pain. At this point everything hurt and it was hard to tell. She advised against root canal at this point as we couldn’t identify the tooth with a 100% certainty and we had no x-ray baseline to see changes from before. She advised healing the infection with antibiotic first and see my home dentist once that cleared. I am so glad we did that because the antibiotics helped. Dr. Russo was patient, kind and very professional. She really took the time even though we weren’t originally scheduled.

PRICE - I paid $29 for the entire visit and five x-rays and the office sent me an electronic copy of my x-rays to my email so that I could share it with my home dentist. I was a self-paid patient. It was a very good price for the service.

I am a physician and practiced OB_GYN for well over 50 years and my philosophy was always "treat every patient as if they were a close family member". Well I have just been treated the same way at Exceptional Dental by Dr Alice Ho .
I came to the office a couple of weeks ago for a routine visit and learned that I had lost a filling and a crown. I fully expected to be told to come back for another appointment so she could do the work needed. But instead, Dr Ho told me "stay here and I do the filling and will put in a temp crown now". She did so. Then about a week later, I got a call that crown was ready and could I come in that day. That was ideal, but unfortunately, I was too busy. So I had an appointment for this am and went in to get the crown.
Dr Ho , has treated me like family!! Always with a friendly attitude, and willing to go out of the way to give special service. She and her assistant , Corielle, took great care of me today.
I could not have gotten better care or service. They practice wonderfully, just like the "old days" of Medicine.

Doctor setti and his assistant Heather were fantastic.... They were very good at explaining everything in perfect detail to me and showing me on the big screen everything that's going on they make you feel very comfortable and they work with a sense of urgency...... By far the best dental experience you can get....... Thank you all very much see you again soon.... Kevin Recurt..... I also need to add the front desk staff or all incredible they are very attentive to your needs and you're not caught sitting around looking for someone to help you again the best dentist office ever

Best dentist experience ever! I have not been in a few years and they were not judgey about this and in fact affirmed that not having dental insurance is the largest barrier to people not going. They have a diverse staff and even give you a blanket and warm neck pillow.

Exceptional Dental provides amazing dental care. I’ve done preventive Invisalign, 2 cleanings a year, X-rays and other things, because I love taking care of my teeth. I’ve been a patient almost 3 years after moving here in 2018. I had been going to my previous dentist since I was in college. It was important to find the right person to trust as my dentist, and I did in Dr. Alice. She’s incredible, and I’m so happy I’m now in her care. She not only cares about my teeth, she cares about me and my family.

They are the nicest and the best dentist I have ever seen! I had bad experiences with dentist before. But since I needed some dental care done and I can honestly say that this dentist really do care n make there patients feel welcome at the office in the front and in the back. I am so glad my husband found them!! I do tell people about them all the time! Thank you exceptional dental of Mid-City!!

I unfortunately broke a tooth on my visit to New Orleans. The doctor and staff saw me in an emergent visit and worked me into their busy schedule.

They were extremely nice and did a great job, fixing things so I could continue to enjoy my trip.

Their care was exceptional and I can't thank them enough for their help!

I had an emergency appointment due to trauma causes by dental grinding and had the chance to meet dr. Alice. She addressed everything in a manner I could understand, but went above and beyond adjusting her schedule around my needs. I have a daughter with special needs and not many professionals would work around this. The staff is always pretty calming, I have anxiety and it is always comforting when people let you know what they are about to do. Of course love the dental hygienist that takes care of me since 2020 and Dr. Setti.

This morning I had the wonderful experience of getting my teeth cleaned at Exceptional Dental of Mid-City. The team that took care of me were OUTSTANDING! Let me tell you why…

I was first seen by two dental assistants. The first was Darius and the other Keyshawn. Darius was absolutely courteous, calm, knowledgable and professional in his demeanor and how he dealt with me. He made me feel totally at ease and welcome. This gentleman made sure that I was aware of each step in the process that I was about to encounter and that any and all of my questions were answered. I knew I was in good hands the whole time. I was a bit chilly and he even supplied me with a neck warmer and blanket!

After his phenomenal care I next was assisted by Keyshawn. She was as wonderful in her care and concern for my treatment as Darius was. Both of them kept me informed and included in the process. I have nothing but praise for how well I was treated.

Next in line was my hygienest, Ms. Carol. This awesome lady was courteous, uplifting, a joy to be around and super pleasant. As she cleaned my teeth I could teel that she was a gentle master at her craft! I made sure to tell her so too.

Finally, my dentist, Dr. Alice Ho came to check on me after the cleaning was complete. She is ALWAYS pleasant, engaging, knowledgable, professional and kind. I had to share with her how pleased and impressed that I was with her dental team. They all are FANTASTIC! Job very well done. Kudos!

If you are new to Exceptional Dental of Mid-City, do yourself a hugh favor and request the aforementioned team for your dental care. You won’t regret it!!!

Dr. Alice and Heather were fantastic and professional. They handled my dental emergency with care and expertise. Dr. Alice provided options for how to handle my broken tooth, was transparent about cost, and never pressured me to make a decision I wasn’t ready for. I am happy to have found a new dentist in New Orleans and will be returning.
