Exceptional Dental of Mid-City

My whole experience from start to finish was wonderful. Every member of the staff, was calm and kind. The dentist was very involved in ever step of the process, and he was very clear with me about what he was doing, why, and what it meant.

The hygienist was very attentive to my pain levels and took every step possible to keep me comfortable. Her "bedside manner" was incredible and made the experience so much less mentally taxing than it has been previously.

The office was a little cold, so the dental assistant brought in a blanket. There are TVs on the ceilings, so I was able to distract myself during the procedure, which helped my dental anxiety a tremendous amount.

This is the absolute best dental office and experience I have ever had. I plan to return for any dental procedure my family or I ever need.

This was my first experience going to a new dentist in 35 years. Dr. Adragna, Rae, and Heather were Exceptionally Phenomenal!

Put me at ease and relaxed me the moment I walked in and impressed me with their painless procedure and efficiency. Very professional organization and highly recommend them.

Literally the best dental care I have EVER received. They have restored my faith in dentists. The staff is amazing and always smiling. The hygienist is so good she is almost artistic with her work ( I have never had a better cleaning in my life).
The prices are beyond reasonable and they will create a plan to work with you.
Google needs to add more stars for this place!!!

Very accommodating staff. I had a cracked tooth and they squeezed me in on a Saturday. Nice ambience for an dental office, except they play the shopping channel very loud and they aren’t allowed to lower the volume????

My first visit was a great experience. The staff was very friendly and inviting. The facility is clean with state of the art equipment; very modern aesthetic. The young lady who took my x-rays walked me through each capture. The dentist was very warm and personable. My hygenist, Jennifer is awesome! She explained the whole procedure and what I should do to keep my mouth healthy. Overall, it was a great first visit and impression. They came highly recommended by my husband!

Always enjoy coming in for an appointment. The staff are pleasant and professional, and the facility is always clean and organized. My hygienist, Jen consistently does a great job with my cleaning and is very thoughtful and kind. I’m very happy with my experience today and always recommend friends to Exceptional Dental.

I started looking for another dentist after mine didn’t reopen after the pandemic lockdown last year. I briefly went to Dumas Dentistry, but it’s tough to get on their schedule. So, after much research, I settled on Exceptional.

My initial visit was fine. As a new patient they took plenty of x-rays. The dental assistant was initially dry, but she warmed up. Dr. Setti examined my mouth and said I had no cavities or other major issues, but then he stated that I needed a crown because the filling (resin) on one tooth was breaking down. I had been reluctant to try a new dentist because I was afraid they would recommend treatment I didn’t need. My two previous dentists made no mention of me potentially needing a crown. After I told the consultant that I would get a second opinion, she convinced me to go through with the procedure because, according to her, my tooth could crack at any time.

So, I’ll preface the following experience by saying that I really don’t know if I needed a crown right now. Maybe eventually, but I’m not certain. I think a second opinion would have provided more insight.

With that said, I came in today (my 2nd visit) to start the crown work. Stephanie, the assistant, was awesome. I can’t say enough positive things about her. She was amazing. Firstly, she was hilarious. She would say something in a different voice similar to a character on tv. It’s difficult to explain. She was thoughtful and personable. Stephanie offered me a warm neck pillow that I’m going to search for on Amazon. It was so soothing. She was also professional and honest. Authentic would be a great word to describe her. She shared some personal information, but she’s just an all around cool person. What impacted me the most was that she patted my arm while the doctor injected the anesthetic. No one has ever done that in the 45 years I’ve been going to the dentist. The patting reduced my anxiety. I didn’t feel the two injections, but the sight of the humongous needle makes me anxious. Thanks Stephanie!! More assistants should do this.

Dr. Setti was great, too. He didn’t say too much compared to my initial visit, but he was professional and gentle. The procedure lasted about an hour and everything went well. On my initial visit, though, Dr. Setti gave me a thorough examination and described my overall dental health. I look forward to getting my permanent crown.

The interior office space is beautiful. It’s definitely one of the more lavish dental offices I’ve been to. The tv in the waiting area, however, is mounted on the same wall that most of the seats are lined against, so you can’t watch tv while you wait. They do have a mini fridge filled with water bottles, which is a nice touch. It appears many offices are adopting this simple, but impactful amenity.

I think the neck pillow, the patting while I was being injected and the extensive equipment they have available exceeded my expectations and sets them apart from many practices in the New Orleans area.

Service was great, however they failed to tell me up front during my insurance pre-verification that I was out of network, and ended up paying $300 out of pocket for a basic cleaning that would have been fully covered somewhere else.

My husband came in for first consultation for extensive dental work. I specifically asked to be included in consultation with doctor but was not called back. He asked too and was told that the doctor would tell the consultation clerk the status and she would talk with both of us. This is not acceptable to me. She was very nice but if WE are investing $30k or in that neighborhood for dental work, I expect to be able to also meet with the doctors. We have another appointment to come back in May to see Dr. Mousa. If I am not allowed to be in a meeting with him and my husband I would like to know in advance so we can find somewhere else to go. I’m an integral part of his care and we need to go where it’s understood that this is a joint undertaking and decision.

Always a good experience, as far as dentists go. Staff is genuinely friendly and always answers my questions to my satisfaction. They have state of the art equipment and everything is immaculate every time. There's never a long wait. Being in my 40's, this is the best dental facility I've ever used.
