I had 2 root canals done at Pleasant Plains. Paid 2 thousand dollars a piece to have them done. They don’t accept payment plans other than care credit. I maxed out the care credit card because I had to have the root canals done. Years later I have two BAD infections in my root canals. I went back to Pleasant Plains in July because that is when I noticed I was having some pain. They did x rays and told me I had an infection. They did not give me any antibiotics to clear infection but told me to call an endodontist to see what the problem was. I called who they recommended and got no response back. Fast forward to 6 months later, I was back in pleasant plains again. This time they tell me yes I have a real bad infection in both root canals. They aren’t sending me to an Endodontist and they quote me for removal of the root canal, bone graft, and implants for 2 teeth. Their quote was $6900 for 2 teeth and no payment plan. My care credit is maxed out because of the 2 root canals I got done there and I don’t know who can just pay $6900 with out a payment plan. Since going back to pleasant plains I have gotten 3 other opinions on my root canals that were preformed at Pleasant Plains. All 3 of the dentist and endodontist that I’ve seen have all asked “who did your root canals?” And all 3 of the people I’ve gotten other opinions from have told me that whoever did my root canals did a HORRIBLE job. Needless to say, I got both teeth removed yesterday where the root canals were. The oral surgeon who pulled my teeth said that whatever Pleasant Plains did when they did my root canals, they didn’t clean the chambers properly and that whatever they put in my roots broke inside the canal which is what caused the infection. Now I have paid $4000 for two root canals which I no longer have those teeth anymore due to poor workmanship on root canals. Please beware when going here to have work done. As to their response. I had 2 root canals at Pleasant Plains. Not 1. You can pull my records and see I’ve had 2 done.

Worst dentist office ever. In 7/21 a dental hygienist pulled on my sons braces chain and removed it claiming his Orthodontist and surgeon was incorrect and attached the chain to a fragment of a baby tooth. When asked to return the chain so we could give it to his Orthodontist, she said she threw it away and was unable to locate it. This caused my son to have to have a second oral surgery to reapply the chain, resulting in him missing school, being on a liquid diet for days etc. Because we were forgiving of the mistake and grateful to the Oral Surgeon for not charging for the second surgery, we decided to give them another chance. Today, I visited with my two children for our route dental cleaning and was charged for the first time a fee. I paid without questioning it till the end of our visit and after I called my insurance company to find out if something had changed since the first of the new year. I was told by Cigna no changes preventive was covered at 100%. When I questioned the sudden out of pocket charge at check out. I was told for the first time in two years of visiting that they are out of network with Cigna, not all Cigna plans just some and mine was one of them. And since they just figured this out, I now owe for the last TWO years of visits for three people dating back to 1/2020. Not once in two years of visits was I ever told I had a balance, received a bill, was emailed a statement stating a balance was owe or was told they were out of network. This is absolutely ridiculous, unprofessional and out right dishonest behavior from Pleasant Plains Dental. I am appalled with the staff running the office.
On a side note, the dental hygienist who cleaned out teeth today was very good. No complaints there.

The best dentist I have ever had. I've had so much dental work in the past and Dr. Ernst was by far the most gentle with an amazing outcome. Root canal on a tooth with a crown, No pain and no need for a crown replacement!

Pleasant experience every time I come here. Gentle dentists and hygienists. Had my first root canal done with Dr. Ernst, and he was so gentle and worried about any pain the entire time, talked me throughout the entire procedure. Highly recommend.

I had crown work done and the amount for the entire treatment was $1059. My dental benefit through Liberty Mutual paid Pleasant plains dental $1622.It states right on the pleasant plains dental treatment plan agreement that was signed and witnessed by Brittany at Pleasant plains that if the insurance pays more the dental office will refund the difference to my insurance company. I called Liberty mutual and Medicare who both said the dental office is responsible to handle the proper distribution of funds. I called the dental office and spoke to Paris who is the insurance coordinator and wrote to Dr Henry Ernst who is the owner. I asked that they refund my benefit overpayment to my insurance company because they received $563. more than my bill. Also that all my dental benefits are exhausted for 2022 due to this error.
Dr. Henry Ernst will not even respond. Paris, their insurance coordinator who I did talk to was extremely rude and unprofessional and just said "the insurance paid and the claim is complete, you are confused ". Taking advantage of a senior citizen Medicare benefits is a crime and telling me I'm confused totally disrespectful. This is being reported and under investigation as needed and to protect other people in the future. Paris is really confused about the laws of Medicare and overcharges by providers. Everyone check your insurance claim statements making sure it matches up with what your provider stated your treatment would cost!!!
Also Your reply is a standard form you use for every patient who has had a horrible experience because i have read them.Let me make this clear for you and everyone reading, You never gave me a bill for all of the 2000. you took from my Medicare. the only bill I received was the 1059. for the crown. had I known what you were billing my insurance I would have walked out. you are running an unprofessional and unethical business! remember what goes around comes around. you can keep replying with the same form letter but it doesn't make it true. you took advantage of my Medicare left me with zero care for the rest of 2022 and I hope more people see this so it doesn't happen to them.
