While searching online for an emergency dental clinic to go to, I contacted Shamblott Family Dentistry. I spoke with a care representative and within the hour, she got me in for a consultation with Dr. Robert Henson, DDS. During the consultation, I explained that I had visited another dentist for treatment of an abscess tooth, and instead of being treated, was placed on a 2nd round of antibiotics. I told Dr. Hensen of my concerns that I had an infection that was worsening, and that the antibiotics given to me were no longer working.
After films and a complete diagnosis, Dr. Hensen immediately honored my request to perform the necessary extraction. He did an awesome job! Dr. Henson was gentle, professional, and caring throughout the entire procedure. I later learned the tooth that was causing the issue was fractured. Before I was sent home, I was given verbal instruction on aftercare, as well as printed copies, and an icepack. Since the treatment, everything has healed wonderfully!!!

First off I do not like to go to the dentist, anxiety and fear but when ya gotta go, go to the good guys who get it. Major issues but not one person did the guilt trip on me, tooth was removed with no pain, not one bit. Was allowed time to ask other questions and got good answers which mean there has to be several returns but this place I do not mind going.

I just had a great experience here. They made me look forward to my next appointment! Me, wanting to go to the dentist? Wow. I saw another dentist last month who said I needed tons of work. Dr. Shamblott said I only needed a couple of crowns and root canals. His staff was really nice and didn't berate me for not taking care of my teeth. They worked with my insurance and helped me get financing from Care Credit. Basically, they were nice to me and helped me figure out a way to pay for my work and got me out of pain. Pretty amazing for a dentist!

Came for the first time for an emergency root canal yesterday. I was a walk in around 7:30am. I saw one of the dentists (wish I got his name to give him credit..black hair, easy on the eyesđ) and got a free exam and xrays. He also set me up to come back in 1 hour for Dr. Shamblott to do my root canal. He gave me Novocane in my jaw so I wouldn't have to deal with the pain another hour. I finally had relief from the horrible pain! I disagree with the other reviewer who said Dr. Shamblott is non personable. He's just very serious about what he does. I found him personable, caring and very funny at times! Everyone at this place was very kind. I definitely will be coming back.

My appointment yesterday with Dr. Henson and his assistant, Katie, was a very pleasant one. I was a little nervous at first, but my concerns were quickly dispelled. Dr. Henson was so efficient at his work that the whole procedure was done in no time. Thank you also to Katie who assisted him. Do not go here unless you have endless pockets of cash. I am so annoyed. When they explained the work that needed to be done, they did not explain that they do not do any silver fillings (even back of mouth) and only do composite/white (and therefore insurance may not cover). My insurance does not cover composite for back teeth, so I have to pay the whole cost of the filling. If they had told me that in the consult, I would have rethought my situation.
I talked to the woman on the phone about their neglecting to highlight it when they explained what needed to be done, and she said it was my responsibility to know my policy. Yes, but they have a responsibility in this area too. I pushed back and she just said sorry. I would rather go somewhere that will simply say, "be sure to ask your insurance whether they cover composite for back of mouth, because some do not." That's their job in the consult, in my opinion. I will find another dentist who can at least have staff who can fake empathy for the financial impact of unexpectedly paying 100% of a filling.

Anytime teeth or dentists are brought up I recommend Shamblott Family Dentistry as fast as I can. I have a phobia of needles and a phobia of pain. Through my 8 root canals they have worked with me patiently and kindly. Dr. Shamblott is friendly and really cares. I have told other dental industry friends about the sort of services they provide to calm fears an they are amazed. SFD goes above and beyond to help people through scary situations. 10/10 would root canal again.
