I came in yesterday to have fillings done top and bottom of both sides of my mouth(cost was pretty reasonable for so many fillings). I've been in excruciating pain all night, can not eat or even close my mouth. There is bonding from the fillings all throughout my teeth and sharp pieces cutting into my tongue. My right side of my mouth feels like I have cardboard between the top and bottom, and the left side won't touch teeth to teeth causing me to not be able to chew. So I called first thing this morning to let them know what was going on, the receptionist told me they would have the dentist give me a call. I had to call back 3hrs later because that call never came. Then I was told to come in at 12 (I live 45 min away). When I arrived, I was told I had to pay a co-pay to be seen! This is unacceptable and I am still in pain. I am very upset because I could be at any other dentist, but was referred by a coworker to help support this black owned business.

I went back in to retrieve my records and receipts, was met by a receptionist and Dr. Ashley Robinson which is the wife of Dr. Keith Robinson. She was very uncooperative and Rude telling me I would not be seen unless I paid the co-pay because they don't know what's wrong with my mouth after they had did the work less than 24hrs. She threatened to make me leave after discussing my visit in the waiting room. She was very unprofessional to say the least.

Update 10/14/22 @8:43am: one of the fillings just fell out of my mouth from my left side. The office is closed today.

We drive almost 2hrs each way to stay with this group, for almost 7yrs. I have experienced their full range of services, from cleanings to braces. They have jazz music and Disney movies to set a great atmosphere. My girls have grown with them,; my youngest, has experienced a filling and tooth removal and expresses that they took care of her and she felt nothing during these. They know and note our preferences and pain points. The back work area is very clean! Overall, thankful to have found our dental home.

My first visit to The Smile Company was a huge success. From check in to getting my root canal they made it painless. They have a very inviting atmosphere and they made me feel at ease. My insurance worked great with them better than most dental places I’ve been too. That with their excellent service and very skilled staff makes me extremely happy and grateful I chose The Smile Company as my new Dentist!

I absolutely love and appreciate The Smile Company for existing. Their professionalism and civility comes second to none. If you've ever been nervous about going to the dentist, go here. If you want to be treated and talked to like a person instead of a patient, go here. I 10/10 recommend! đź‘Ś

I went in about 2 years ago due to a tooth ache on the bottom left side of my mouth. I was told that a piece of one of my fillings had come out. They recommended I have it replaced, along with every filling I currently have in my mouth stating they were old (to the tune of like $4K-$6K). So, I went ahead and had the broken filling replaced, as well as the one in the tooth directly next to it. First, Dr. Ashley was not very personable at all; and when she numbed my mouth, she kept shaking my jaw every time she injected me with another shot of Novocain, which I have never experienced before in my life. It literally took months before the swelling in my left cheek went down and back to normal. In addition, after replacing my fillings she cautioned me that she had to go deep into my tooth and close to the nerve so “I might need to have a root canal” in the future. A week later I had to go back in to have the fillings leveled because they were uneven and making it impossible for me to chew properly, once again she seemed equally perturbed. Honestly, my intuition felt off about the entire experience, but I disregarded it and kept it moving. Ironically, I have still had continuous sensitivity/pain in that same tooth ever since having the filling replaced.

Lastly, fast forward to now, the pain was becoming intolerable whenever I bite down on anything on that side of my mouth, so I decided to see a different dentist about the pain this time. Long story short, I was told that BOTH teeth with the replacement fillings (done by The Smile Company) are expanding when I bite down which is causing both teeth to crack and that is what’s causing my pain. NOW, I need to have crowns put on both of those teeth to stop the splitting! I should have done more research, instead of being eager to support a BOB! Personally, I would not recommend this place to anyone. They seem to be all about the Benjamin’s, instead of doing quality and ethical work. Additionally, I did not tell my new dentist any of this, but oddly he happened to mention that he didn’t see a need for a root canal and that the crowns should fix the problem. Choose wisely.

I really enjoyed my visit.
It's been almost 15 plus years since being at a dentist outside of an emergency visit and they made me feel like it was only yesterday.
From the inviting entrance and receptionist, the cleanliness and updated look, as well as the service I received and the tec and doctor treating me.

I look forward to my visit back and know it'll be a good one.

This business told me that they would work with my schedule when I initially went to them with a dental emergency because I travel a lot for work but they haven't. I have paid them over $4,000 cash in addition to flights that I'm paying for to come to my appointments when I'm out of town and am continually beings charged for appointments even when I show up for scheduled appointments and cancel appointments when I know that I will not be in town. I was told I missed an appointment in September and owe $75 but they have in their system that I was at my appointment in September and was informed to take it up with the billing office. I just want my work completed and they will NEVER have to worry about getting anymore of my money or referrals.

****UPDATE!!!!
Zero stars now. I have been dismissed as a patient because I questioned their billing and posted a negative review per Janice, who finally called me back after I left 3 messages for the Dr. Keith; who I believe to be Dr. Keith's wife; and gave me a fake name who is also a dentist in the office. According to Janice I paid to have a mental post implanted and my crown was complimentary and my work is complete. Where do you pay for a dental implant and do not have a crown placed especially for $4,000? No reputable dentist would extract a patient's tooth, install a metal post and not place a crown on the post and leave the customer with an empty space in the front of their mouth. I HATE that I was ever referred here trying to support a small black business. Lesson learned a hard and expensive way. I am in contact with my attorney regarding this matter.

Staff is always nice. Office is always clean. There is never a wait. Once you get in the chair you feel like you’re talking to your friends lol. But I always get up feeling good about my smile. Best dentist, we will not be changing my entire family goes to them…

Sharon

Inexperienced staff. Quality of work is poor. They canceled my appointment for a crown at last minute for bogus reason and without full explanation when asked. I suggest you conduct a thorough research including BBB complaints before choosing to have dental work performed.
