I went in for a scheduled root canal February 5th 2021, dentist did not preform the procedure but instead cleaned out the cavity and put on a temporary crown, mouth was kept open for over an hour, dentist did not communicate before hand to me that he had changed the procedure until he had finished, couple of days later I called back because I had pain, dentist then scheduled me again for a actual root canal for February 9th during procedure my mouth was open for almost two hours. I was given a prescription for antibiotics “just in case “ I then asked tech if there was any infection tech replied “ We did not see any infection “ so I did not get prescription filled right away. A couple of days later I was in so much pain, with in those couple of days I had lost the prescription so I called the office February 18th 2021 for another prescription I told the tech at front desk that it wasn’t a narcotic but a antibiotic, tech replied “that’s why you should’ve gotten it filled right away “ and it’s been more than 10 days I would have to make an appointment to see the dentist before he can prescribe you antibiotics. I told tech it hasn’t been more than 10 days, tech did not care and wouldn’t allow me to speak with the dentist. I called back to leave a message for dentist, dentist did not return my call but had one of his tech’s call back. I had to go to a Urgent care where I received better service and was given antibiotics, steroid shot and I was referred to a specialist because I had really bad jaw pain and was unable to open my mouth because the dentist kept it opened for almost 2 hours long. March 1st I seen the specialist and I was diagnosed with TMJ and had to do therapy of my jaw to get back range of motion. I felt like I was getting milked Overall horrible experience, wouldn’t recommend the Smile Co. to anyone. It’s 0 stars for me

**another update: I saw my dentist and need a root canal. So the dentist at smile co was going to put a filling in a tooth that needs a root canal. I'm not a dentist, but that doesn't seem right.

**update: someone left a voicemail stating they refunded my money due to my review and canceled my appointment 😂. What a joke of a business . I wish I would have read the reviews of other customers describing these shady billing tactics before scheduling at all. Probably helped my situation that the assistant asked what I did for a living. Hopefully others will heed the warnings. I was lucky and only lost an hour and a half of my life. Check out the better business bureau rating of "F" and the reasons behind it. You'll be glad you did !

The dentist was kind and quick, the assistant was kind and helpful. The policies of this office, however, leave much to be desired. Long story short, they need much better communication with new patients as to what they can expect. The appointment was an emergency appointment for a painful chipped tooth. When I arrived, there was a sign to wait in your car and text that you had arrived. Understandable with covid, but no one communicated that when the appointment was made. I waited 50 minutes, which is really not a great start, but understandable if they're trying to work out new procedures. No one brought me new patient paperwork until I asked, about 20 minutes after my arrival, because they "didn't know I was new". " I finally got in and seen by the assistant and dentist. The dentist takes a 20 second look and recommends a plan of treatment for a filling. Great! I'm expecting to have the filing placed then after talking with the receptionist who made the emergency appointment for this exact purpose. I have a regular dentist that I saw less than 3 months ago for routine cleaning and exam. Apparently instead they scheduled this at a "new patient exam" and tell me I have to come back another day to get the actual filling. They then tell me that their office policy is to take full payment for the service to be provided at the time you schedule. They also charge a cancelation fee without 48 hours notice. This appointment is being made for the next day, which isn't even 24 hours away. So if I book this last minute, which I hadn't planned for with work because you're scheduler told me the appointment was am emergency tooth repair and then have to cancel for work, I'm out whatever I just paid to book this procedure. None of this was communicated by anyone until I was already in the chair and had the exam. In fact, their patient billing policy that you have to sign states exactly the opposite. How can they accurately bill you for a service that has not been provided and that they have not actually billed my insurance for? What if my out of pocket is less than what I paid you after you actually run it through insurance? Why am I now stuck paying for an exam and xrays I didn't need as a "new patient" for what was supposed to be an emergency appointment?? It was all rather off-putting and I definitely will not be using this practice again. It really felt like a scam to be honest. If I come in for an issue and you have already billed my insurance for xrays, etc. for that one issue, they are not going to cover another set of xrays and exam at another provider for the same exact issue. My bill was affordable and I have an hsa, so it's not the amount. It's the fact that there was no disclosure at all. They essentially make it to where you have to use them for whatever you came in for, or else pay out of pocket to go elsewhere. Even worse, what kind of medical provider requires prepayment for services not yet provided?! I can understand a deposit, cancelation fee, etc. But full prepayment?? It's a medical practice, not a pizza hut.... Very odd, very pushy, not at all what I expected. I'll stick with my current dentist.

I had a very bad experience at Smile. The work they did was so badly done that the problem resurfaced in a severe way in 18months, the doctor who treated me refused to even give me an appointment and front office did not even give me an appropriate reason. It is so unfortunate that we have Doctors who reject patients, they should be ripped off their license if they reject patients for follow up treatment without giving legitimate reasons. I know legally i could take action here, but I rather fixed an appointment on my own with a new Dentist and thankfully they corrected the shoddy work that was done at Smile. I would not suggest this place to anyone, if you like your Dental health and Money please do not choose Smile, they are the worst!!

I've been a patient at the smile company for almost two years and have had a continuously wonderful experience. When I started there my mouth was quite a mess, so I have had several procedures from cavity fillings to wisdom teeth taken out to Invisalign and am very excited that I am now proud to smile instead of trying to just keep my mouth closed as much as possible. My dentist is Dr. Keith who is always very kind, professional and resolves any questions or concerns I have during my visit. I feel confident that he takes pride in his work and wants me to think everything is perfect before I leave which is exactly how I would like to leave. I would also like to give a shout out to the two dental hygienists I have had because they have been exceptional. My first was Danielle and she is extremely friendly and funny. I always feel like I'm chatting with a friend during visits. More recently I've been working with Petrisse and I'm happy to say that the friendliness and upbeat visits continue. She's been such a joy and very kind and friendly as well. One last shout out would be to the billing department. I have struggled with doctor and dentist offices not billing my insurance correctly and having to advocate for myself just to get my correct coverage. This is not the case w smile company. Everything is discussed prior to any treatment and I have not had a single issue with insurance billing or any surprises to fix in the mail as I had in the past at two other offices. Overall I have had a 5/5 experience and would highly recommend this dentist!

I was incredibly nervous about coming to the dentist. I had bad experiences as a child. But the Smile Company has been nothing but professional and caring. The staff always greets you with a smile and is accommodating to your needs. The wait room even has a children's ipad area. I especially appreciate Danielle for always taking extra care to answer all of my many questions. I trust them so much I signed up for braces.
