I was a first time patient and they was able to get me in within a week of scheduling an appointment. The entire staff was amazing. My dental issues was explained to me properly. This is now my new dental home.

I just moved to Tallahassee and needed a new dentist asap. I broke one of my wisdom teeth and was in a lot of pain. I found them online and even was able to make my appointment online for the next day. They were very courteous and helpful. They examined my mouth and made an appointment for me the next day to have the tooth extracted. The whole process was smooth and you can tell that the staff really care about their patients.

Horrible experience. I went in with hopes of getting a painful wisdom tooth extracted. For my initial exam they gave me a treatment plan which included the option of having 3 of the 4 teeth extracted. I left that day and later in the week called to schedule an appointment for the extractions but, was told I had to first pay the total in full, which at the initial visit I was told I needed to pay 60% before scheduling. Mind you the the price has changed twice now, which I had no problem paying however I wanted to know exactly what I was paying for. Now at this point, I'm in pain but still hopeful that this experience will be over with soon. I called to pay the balance in FULL, I held the line for over 20 minutes before Jodice came to the line with a full blown attitude. I asked 3 times the price and what was included and yet again I was told a different price( which was more). To beat that, when I came in NO ONE from the staff welcomed me, no smiles, not even a common hello!! I signed in and had a 35 minute wait before I was even acknowledged. I was then called to desk to go over my procedure , only to find out " I owed MORE money", and the dentist could only do 1 extraction. (Keep in mind my insurance pays 90% for my extractions in network). The gentleman was very rude, telling me what was written in the notes, as if I'm a complete moron. Mind you I was STILL IN EXCRUCIATING PAIN!!! I asked for a refund, at the same time there was a young lady in there who arrived about 2 minutes after I, and they had no appointment scheduled for her. The young lady said she spoke with someone to confirm and confirmed via text. Long story short she walked out livid as well. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE and thank me later!!!!!

I am very dissatisfied with the cleaning that I received. It was the first time in a very long time that I was treated as if I was incompetent and uninformed in my decision making. Upon arrival I was told that my routine cleaning was covered and that because I had a credit on my account I would not need to pay the full amount for a fluoride treatment. I informed the lady at the front desk that I declined treatment. She proceeded to say that I would need to speak with the dental hygienist. I said sure; the hygienist walks up and says “I’m right here, follow me”. Did not introduce herself, no smile, nothing. When we go to the examine room she explains why fluoride is given and by law she has to tell me the information. I told her I understood. She then says “in the future put some money to the side so when it comes up again you will be prepared.” I was SHOCKED. I told her the cost was not the problem and I do not want it. We then go to do my X-rays and return back to the examine room. She does my cleaning, and the dentist comes in. He examines my teeth and says that they are in great shape. I recently had a root canal so we talked about a crown appointment and the dentist provided information on optional Invsalign for a misaligned tooth. He explained about fluoride and how some people do not want it because of the taste, because of their beliefs or because they do not want that amount of chemicals in their body. I told him that was the case and it wasn’t that I could not afford it. The dentist agreed and says he understands. Again he says I have a great smile and to keep up the good work and that he would see me in 6 months. Mind you the dental hygienist is in the room as well. As I am getting ready to leave the dental hygienist says there is a pamphlet on fluoride on the counter for you to take. I get up and walk out the door. She says “oh you don’t want the pamphlet” and scuffs.
I was very upset. I am far from being misinformed and not being able to afford the treatment. Not only did I feel insulted by the implication that I could not afford the treatment. I have not declined fluoride for myself and my children before and it was respected. Instead of every 6 months I receive it once a year. My children have never had cavities, we hardly eat sweet, do not drink soda and have fluoride in our toothpaste. I should not have to justify such a small decision when it is my right. It is not life or death and my history did not show that it was that much of an issue. There was a serious lack of bed side manner and respect from this hygienist. I felt completely insulted; she did not know anything about me and judged for no reason, her whole tone towards me and the topic was VERY off putting. I did not feel comfortable during my cleaning and if she is going to be there for my next appointment I would like to cancel. Respecting one’s view is so important and that I did not feel occurred today. Ive reached out to the office manager for over a month and have not had a call back obviously because they dont care.

I have had mixed experiences here... sometimes good sometimes fair, never bad. Yesterday’s visit took me an hour to get into be seen for a 10 minute cleaning... once I got in the hygienist was nice and knowledgeable. I like that they have hours past the normal workday. They are also clean at this location.

Scheduled my first appointment with them for 3:30 and I was there by 3, with paperwork already completed. They said that I never confirmed my appointment when they called and I would have to reschedule. They NEVER called me, I even checked my call log to see if I missed a call and nothing. The receptionist said she would talk to the office manager to see if they could get me in, but kept hinting that it was my fault for not answering their (nonexistent) call. I waited for 45 minutes for the manager and then was told that they couldn't get me in, but would reschedule me for tomorrow at 6pm. An hour later, I get a call to confirm my 12pm appointment. I have an exam at 12:30, so I told her that my appointment was supposed to be at 6 after I got out of work. She said that it was already booked by somebody else. After a small argument, I just decided to cancel my appointment and go with a more professional place that knows how to read a calendar. The receptionist was nice, but that was the only positive experience I had.

My first time at this dentist office was due to an emergency. My own dentist office wouldn’t see me! Aspen provided outstanding customer service! Therefore, I moved my dental plan to Aspen. The staff is truly amazing!

First, their office manager pressured me into prepaying for my future appointments. Second, they consistently forget that these appointments were prepaid and they mail me bills or try to charge me after appointments. Third, two days before my appointment that I scheduled 6 MONTHS AGO, they called to tell me that it was double booked and that I would have to have it rescheduled. They have yet to get me scheduled for a suitable time following when I get off from work and this appointment was supposed to happen a month ago. Spare yourself, don't go to Aspen Dental.

Everyone was helpful and knowledgeable on all aspects of my care...
Thanks Bobbie Hixson
