I wouldn't even give 1 star. They cancel appointments and don't call and tell you. You'll get confirmation of appointments but drive 90miles and get there and they show no appointment! This has happened multiple times. Also I scheduled an appointment for a root canal just to get there and they say they don't do root canals! Why make an appointment for something they don't do! Just to get your money or make you waste your gas money traveling 90miles one way

I took my daughter in for an ortho consultation. The dental assistant who took care of us was Jessica H.. She was wonderful! She explained the procedure fully, was kind and humorous and made the whole experience much less stressful than it could have been. I have always gotten great treatment at Familia, but Jessica was above and beyond! Orthodontist was great too and explained process to us and answered all our questions. So grateful to have these folks right here in Springfield. Thank you, Familia!

Brought my son in for a ortho consult. First appointment went well, planned out his braces plan. worked out insurance and payments and made appointment to have his teeth extracted as well as the appointment for bonding. Went to the second appointment to have his teeth pulled to get ready for the braces was told he didn’t have a referral from the orthodontist we had seen at the very same office so they had to reschedule. Came for his third appointment to again attempt to have his teeth pulled again they didn’t have the referral I of course was very upset and one of the receptionists got it worked out, however I was very nervous that the correct teeth were being pulled the dentist did not once answer any of my questions with a direct answer nor could any of the dentist assistance. We are home now he’s in pain and I’m worried I should have found another orthodontist. Only time will tell if we should have gone else where.

Update- I decided to finish his braces plan at another local orthodontist. I was told that the teeth familia pulled did not need to be extracted and was completely unnecessary for the braces plan that would have worked for him, we have since had his braces put on and the new orthodontist has been nothing but amazing and it only was a $600 dollars difference from what familia was going to charge me, well worth the extra money for the peace of mind!

Friday I broke a wisdom tooth while at work, and I knew it had to come out. It was only then that I learned that I had not renewed my dental benefits through work for this year. Oops! Lucky for me, Familia allowed me to book an extraction for the next day--a rarity in a COVID-ravaged world! I made my appointment with Elaine Goncalves, and was bolstered by seeing a positive review of her, but still apprehensive. I had my left side removed a few years ago, and I recalled the pain and recovery, something I did not look forward to. The staff made me feel at ease and like I was in great hands. Dr. Goncalves came in, checked the x-rays, saw the damage and decided I was right--that tooth had to go! After discussing financials with me (it was so reasonable!), she swabbed me with some strawberry-ish tasting anaesthetic, then gave me some shots in my gums--that stuff tasted nothing like strawberries and was very bitter, but it did the trick--before settling in to work. That tooth, which I was worried about breaking and shattering during extraction, popped out in definitely less than ten minutes, and I think less than five! She showed me the tooth after, and then left me packed with gauze, clutching my after care instructions and ibuprofen, and smiling from ear to ear! Definitely would recommend!

This place has convinced me that barbers will be pulling teeth again in a few months.

I called the number below and got nothing but the run-around. This place doesn't deserve the one star I had to give it.
(Second edit) All the staff deserves 4-5 stars, the policy on pain medication is medieval.. upgrading to three stars, and I gave them one too many for following corporate policy on pain medication. Dentists are valuable, industrial medicine and legal regulations aren't.

Shawn was amazing dud a fantastic job

It’s day three. Went in for a front chip repair and filling. The dentist did a both my front teeth! They are very uneven, thick, and you can see the composite on my tooth! I hate them. The tooth where she filled the cavity hurts so badly! She also extracted a jaw tooth (which should had been done by an oral surgeon) it took her an hour and half to remove the tooth, finally she gave up and went and got the other Dr. SHE applied so much pressure! It did finally come out! My gums are cut, the roof of my mouth, my face is still very swollen and I’m in so much pain! No pain meds prescribed just and antibiotic. Two sutures! This is the reason people are afraid of the dentist! ...oh did I mention I had to reschedule the appoint three times? They scheduled when they weren’t open, forgot I was there and then finally a real appointment! The front desk people are so rude and loud! Very unprofessional! I now have to go to a different dentist to correct the work that wasn’t done properly! I will not return! The Dental assistant was sweet though.

Literally THE WORST place we have ever been. I’ve been trying to give it time thinking it might get better but it hasn’t. I’ve dealt with them monthly for a year now. They schedule so many people at the same time that they can’t keep up and you never wait for less than an hour after your scheduled time to be seen. The front desk staff is insanely rude about it as well. They don’t care at all. I’ve never experienced such horrible customer service. Currently searching for a better Orthodontist. This place is a joke.

This is the only place Ive heard of that makes an "emergency" appointment and tells the patient they have to come back before they will fix it. Had an appointment for 5pm. I called and told them my daughters two front teeth got chipped in an accident at school, and they said "oh we need to see her today." I rearrange my whole day along with some family members who had to help me get there, wait 30 minutes in the lobby, then another 15 in the room. They took an x ray and Dr Erika Cuevas said "I can fix it just not today because we close at 6." I told her that my appointment was for 5 and its not my fault that they took 40 minutes to get me back here. She went and told the director I was upset and left, refusing to fix my daughters two front teeth. But to them apparently thats okay because I can come back in the morning. I work 3rd shift. Thanks familia dental for not caring about my daughter's teeth. I wonder how medicaid would feel knowing they are going to be billed for a separate visit that couldve been done all in one day? Ill be calling social services to let them they treat their medicaid clients. Its not a big deal because medicaid just pays. I WILL be making them aware of this.

Ran into problems and they figured it out immediately. I also had a fantastic dentist assistant named Kim she made me feel comfortable and really helped out a lot.
