Hawaii Family Dental - Queen Kaahumanu Center

On a Saturday morning call to Hawaii Family Dental for an emergency, my wife asked to be her seen havefor frontan emergency as he front tooth crown had come off and needed to be reglued because she had important meetings on Monday. After my wife speaking over the phone with Brianna and requesting to come in for a quick fix, she mentioned to my wife that there was no availability, then my wife requested to speak with a manager, the respond was that there were no managers working that day and had put my wife on hold for 10 minutes, although the facility is open on Saturdays. After multiple calls to get in to different locations, my wife was set to theyhave tears and had got the run around for over 45 minutes on the phone. After being a patient for years, we were disappointed. However, I decided to take my wife in to see why they rejected her. When we arrived, she asked to see a manager, the assistant manager was very sweet and she immediately took my wife in and we were very thankful. I wished the front desk girls had some sort of welcoming smiles or a bit of Aloha on their faces. They make you feel that you are just anther animal from the herd. I will give one Star for the front desk personnel and making my wife cry and 5 Stars for May, assistant manager handling the situation.

These people are professional and caring - plenty of aloha! I have dealt with Heather, Rowena, Dr. Thomas, Dr. Gill and Dr. Wisotsky. I trust them all. Since I retired, it's the first time dental expenses come out of my own pocket rather than work coverage. I now use their Hoala Plan and it makes things reasonable. I recommend Hawaii Family Dental to anyone.

Everyone at the office was so friendly! Everyone working together seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and working with each other. It was a fun and relaxing experience--at the dentist! The doctor was also really gentle with my mouth, which was amazing. I've definitely found my dentist office! :)

Staff was unaware of the advertising and was offended. The dentist was fine. I am concerned about getting gouged in the wallet as they were quick to ask for more money and commitment, but unapologetic about nearly charging us $180 more than expected.

I had an appointment for a deep cleaning. Nancy was great as always. No pain at all after the anesthesia wore off.

Jeanette is the best hygienist I have ever had work on my teeth. She is thorough and informative. Highly recommend her and the wonderful staff at Hawaii Family Dental

Worst experience ever! I started my orthodontic treatment there in February, paid in full for the whole treatment. They only put some brackets on top and that was it for 5 months! With the COVID everything closed, I had broken braces on my mouth and they wouldn’t see me. After June when they open with restrictions they only had a app for July, the doc who was taking care of my case only flys to Maui once a week. The day of my app (after all that wait) I got there a little late because of road blockage on Hana hwy (quarantine check point) I immediately call them to let them know that I was going to be a little late.I got there 15min late and they didn’t let me in.
After this I decided that I did not want to get my orthodontic treatment over there anymore and asked my money back. I call there more than 20 times Spoke with some very rude attendants and after Insisting they transfer me to the billing department to talk to a lady call “Brenda” the same lady who collect the $6,657 from me. Well she said that they could only give me back around $4,000!!!!! They were charging me more than $2,000 for 6 brackets! Well I explained to her that this was absurd she seem to agree with me and said that she was going to talk to her superiors... 3 weeks pass and nothing, no call and no email. This past week I call her every single day more than 3 times each day, left messages and no answer or call back! Today I decided to take them to court!

The facility and staff are nice. I also like the hygienist that puts my daughter’s invisaline. But the dentist himself. He didn’t even look at my daughter. He was like that since day one of my daughter’s appointment for invisaline. I felt like Discrimination because when he talks to me about my daughter, it seems like he hate his job! Well, it’s either his job or he doesn’t like filipino. I don’t want to go to him anymore for my daughter’s appointment but he’s the only one I think. I wanted to mention his name but I won’t. But if he continue to do what his doing to me and my daughter I will personally file a complain against him. He is very unprofessional. I gave 3 stars for the facility and the staff. But zero for him.!
