Familia Dental

I’m giving one star only because I can’t do half a star. This whole place is a Medicaid scam. Push as many people through as possible while giving little to no service. They quite literally don’t even do the bare minimum, it’s laziness. And the dentistry here is like all of the Indian docs received their degrees online. My “dentist” told me multiple times that it wasn’t possible to do something with my front tooth that I’ve quite literally had done multiple times before once in the civilian sector and another in the military. THEY DIDN’T EVEN CLEAN MY TEETH. What the heck!?

The place and the people were very nice and very helpful. The cleanliness is less to be desired. Trash on the floor, trash cans over flowing. Wake you use paint. Just looks very run down and makes you wonder how clean everything really is.

I had a really good experience with Familia Dental in Peoria, IL as I always do. The staff was friendly and courteous and I was seen quickly. The Dentist was very knowledgeable and took the time to explain all of the details of my appointment as well as future treatments. I don’t live in Peoria but it is always worth the 1.5 hour drive for great service!

We have gone several times now and they are amazing with our daughter who struggles with anxiety and does not like going to the dentist. They are amazing and help make her feel comfortable.

After reading all the horrible reviews about Familia I was apprehensive to go. But because of my insurance (Medicaid and (Medicare Disability), I had no choice. I have to say I'm glad I went in. After being pushed from one dentist office to another for tooth extraction's I never got a teeth cleaning in 10 years. Anyway I decided I couldn't handle the pain and year after year getting a tooth pulled,so opted to get full dentures. The staff here are wonderful and kind. I picked Dr. Jakkula as my new dentist. I did all my new paperwork online to save time and made my own appointment. That's a awesome option instead of doing it there. Waited less than 10 minutes before being called back. First appointment x-rays then a week of waiting for insurance to approve dentures. The next 2 appointments were impressions. I picked immediate dentures. 3rd visit was day to have 22 teeth extracted and dentures put in immediately. I was nervous wreck. Bad past experience with not enough novacaine. Anyway Dr. Jakkula reassured me I wouldn't feel it (they always say that). But she numbed me, said do you feel anything (as she's poking). I didn't. I truly didn't feel anything. She took the 22 teeth out in half an hour, maybe even sooner. I'm telling you she was so nice and amazing. Now I'm not going to lie, the 3rd day afterwards I was in pain and had to take immediate dentures out. But overall I had a great experience here and still do when I return. Within 4 weeks of first visit everything was done. I didn't have to wait months either. I'm grateful for the team at Familia and I'm no longer scared of the dentist anymore. So hopefully those of you who read all the crazy bad reviews will read mine and it gives you more comfort. Thank you Familia my denture's are beautiful and I can smile with confidence again. Got me in fast but didn't really feel like they cared about how bad I was in pain and sent me on my way with severe tooth pain and only wanted to pull them all out. They didn't even try to save any of my teeth.

Dental assistants but are so sweet kind and patient. They explain everything to me. Make the whole process smooth. My dentist as well explains all of her steps and made me feel comfortable, as well as her patience is impeccable. My daughter goes here as well and absolutely love how they make her feel comfortable. Explain everything in a kid friendly way. Always will recommend

Just kind of got me in a outta there. I wanted to talk more extensively about my teeth grinding habits so I made an appointment. When I got there, they were quite busy and once they called me back I spoke about my grinding again and no one really seemed interested in helping me. Cleaned my teeth and fixed a chip in under 30 minutes. But shooed me out the door when I tried to speak about my habits again with a “try an over the counter mouth guard.” Doing research, those actually hurt your gums and can misalign your teeth when used. Looks like I’ll be headed somewhere else for some better dental advice.
They didn’t really want a patient they just wanted the insurance money for the routine cleaning and the fill.

I’ve had a amazing time while being at Familia Dental! They are so kind and will talk you through any questions you have or are curious about. If you have braces, it is amazing here because they make sure no wires are poking and that’s nothing is making you uncomfortable. My ortho’s name is Hallaha and she is amazing! The people in the front are super nice and are very welcoming! Also Dr mittler makes sure to check up on me to see my progress and how I’m doing!
